Kuyt was playing alone upfront against Hull at home last season. He was dreadful. Beside Torres, there isnt any striker in our team who can play alone up front in our squad. Whether we play 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2 we need another top striker.
He bought Keane for £20M, it was a failure. Now he has to buy another one that will succeed.

At the beginning of the summer I was secretly hoping we could afford to sign someone like Henry who could play on the left and cover for Torres or a young promising striker in £10m region in addition to signing Silva(or like). Now I'd be really happy if we could just get Silva and not lose any of our starters.

I always said that he's a decent player, but the problem is that he only ever plays well when the rest of the team is playing well. That's not good enough to be honest.

If we're playing like crap and we turn to the bench, we need someone who is capable of changing things... like Yossi... or Babel.

As for whether we need a striker, I still think we really do unless Rafa is ready to put his trust in Babel. Kuyt had some great games up top for us last season and actually scored the vast majority of his goals in that position. The problem is his lack of his pace... it puts a lot of pressure on the other attackers to get close and there is less margin for error.

We lose a lot when Torres is out because we have nobody capable of running in behind and stretching defences. That's either where Babel or new guy simply has to come in to the equation.

Well personally I've seen enough of him to know i don't want him starting regularly. I don't think he can really play in our current set up either, he's no good on the right of the three or as a lone striker. He's just another body in the squad really.

We had all of those last season (bar V.) - and that may be one of the reasons we are not EPL champions.

Yes, I am worried and have been for 2 seasons. However I do think Rafa will be in for someone and we will have two more players before the season starts - a winger and a striker.
