Brazilian striker Adriano is considering a move to the Premier League and has confirmed he has received a number of offers to return to Europe.

The three times Serie A winner was released by Inter Milan earlier this year following a number of disciplinary problems and returned to Brazil to rebuild his career with Flamengo.

Adriano's 19 goals for the Rubro-Negro helped Flamengo claim their first Brazilian title for 35 years at the weekend and the 27-year-old now is available on a free transfer.

The striker is considering his next move and said: "I do not deny that I've received many offers. I know that teams want me in Italy and England.

"I will take my time over a decision so I don't make any mistakes. I will think very long and I will also speak with friends and family. But now the only important thing is my happiness, not money."

The former Brazil international, who could yet reclaim a place with national team, has already been linked with a move to West Ham United in the UK press.

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez will hand Italian midfielder Alberto Aquilani his full debut against Fiorentina in Wednesday's Champions League Group E clash at Anfield.

Aquilani was signed from AS Roma in the summer to replace Real Madrid-bound playmaker Xabi Alonso but still required time to recover from knee surgery and has made just three short substitute appearances for Liverpool.

Despite Liverpool's poor start to the season Benitez resisted the urge to rush back Aquilani and is certain he made the right decision.

Benitez said. "We decided we couldn't take any risks with him. It wouldn't have been good for him or us. We wanted to protect him and give him the best opportunity to play well. Hopefully Wednesday will be the day.

"He has quality, good vision and is dynamic. It is a question of match fitness, but I think we will see some of these things against Fiorentina. If he can carry on training properly and play some games, we will see his quality.

"He is a player with experience at international level, which is important, but he is in a new country with different teammates, so he has to settle down and will need time."

Striker Fernando Torres will be back following his groin injury, but will start the match on the bench. Second-choice keeper Diego Cavalieri is also expected to play, with Jose Reina being rested.

Dirk Kuyt could sit out the match with Benitez confirming that several squad players will get a run-out. Reserve striker Daniel Pacheco is likely to be involved at some stage.

David Moyes has indicated that he supports suggestions Everton and Liverpool would benefit from sharing a stadium on Merseyside.

The issue of groundsharing is a thorny one but Everton are currently assessing their options after seeing plans for a move to Kirkby fall through when communities secretary John Denham rejected the project.

Liverpool, too, have had their problems with plans for stadium expansion after Tom Hicks and George Gillett were forced to delay work on a new ground due to the adverse economic climate.

English clubs have never really embraced the culture of groundsharing that has worked in places such as Milan and Munich, but Moyes would not be against seeing Merseyside added to that list.

"I would be interested but I know there would be concerns," Moyes told the Liverpool Daily Post. "In this country we don't do it. For whatever reason we don't do it in this country. But it may well work here in Liverpool. It could do.

"I think we would probably be interested because we don't have a stadium. We would like to move to a new ground where we can bring in more revenue.

"Perhaps Liverpool don't need us as much as we maybe need them but I'm not against it. As long as it was done correctly, and giving us the same rights as Liverpool, I would be more than up for it."

Matt Le Tissier has offered his services as a penalty coach to England in a bid to help avoid World Cup shoot-out misery.

The former Southampton forward successfully converted 47 of the 48 penalties he took in his professional career and thinks it is strange that England do not employ a coach in an area that has cost England so dearly in big tournaments in the past.

With England losing on penalties to Portugal at the 2006 World Cup, as well as penalty heartbreak in a number of other major tournaments, Le Tissier believes he could help England improve their poor record in high-pressure shoot-outs.

"I'm surprised actually, with the way that football has gone, the number of staff clubs have and they say they never leave any stone unturned, I can't think of any club ever that has employed a penalty coach," he told talkSPORT. "When you look back at the number that have been missed so far this year, that could be worth quite a few quid come the end of the season. "

Le Tissier believes his penalty technique would help players hold their nerve under pressure. "I'd try and coach them the way I took them," he said. "It took out quite a lot of the negativity surrounding penalties in the mindset and it reduced the risk of the goalkeeper getting lucky.

"I'd hope that the players would be able to take it on board and have enough bottle to keep their head cool in the situation and not be afraid to change their mind at the last minute if they have to.''

Le Tissier revealed he used to bet youth team goalkeepers couldn't save any of his kicks, putting added pressure on him to convert spot-kicks in training. "I knew (the goalkeeper) was trying for every one of them and it meant I had to focus because I didn't want to give away money because I was tight,'' he said.

Stoke are remaining tight-lipped on the alleged bust-up between manager Tony Pulis and striker James Beattie in the aftermath of their weekend defeat by Arsenal.

The latest raft of claims in the British press say Pulis was naked when he launched a headbutt at Beattie after he had emerged from the showers in the dressing room at the Emirates. The melee caused his towel to fall to the floor, say the Daily Mail.

The argument was reportedly over the players' Christmas party, which was due to take place in London over the weekend. Pulis is said to have cancelled the bash and insist the squad report for training instead.

Pulis is believed to have apologised to the players on Monday but Beattie is still considering a move away from the club in January.

The only comment on the row has come from Stoke chairman Peter Coates, who said: "As far as the club is concerned, this is an internal matter and will be dealt with internally."

Beattie came off the bench in the second half against Arsenal and has failed to start a Barclays Premier League match for the club since the 1-0 victory over Portsmouth last month.

Pulis signed the former England striker from Sheffield United for £3.5 million in last season's January transfer window and his seven goals in 16 games were instrumental in helping Stoke to finish 12th in their debut Premier League campaign.

But fitness problems have impeded his impact this term and the former Southampton and Everton forward has netted just twice in 15 appearances.

If we're going to go down that route, shouldn't we just get Ronaldo ?

He's also still banging the goals in.

Corinthians - 20 games, 12 goals.
EDIT:
589 career appearances, 408 goals

I'm obviously not being serious, I just love Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima.

LOVE HIM !

Yeah I'm with you on the Ronaldo love.

It pains me that C.Ronaldo has sullied his good name.

But the question remains... Will he make the World Cup squad? I, for one, really hope so. I'd much rather see Ronaldo and Ronaldinho up front for Brazil than Luis Fabiano.

Fabiano is doing the business so I don't really have a problem with him, but there surely has to be a spot for O Fenômeno ?.
That Hulk character for a start ! Who the fuck is he ?

Thank FUCK Vagner Love is out of the picture !

Adriano on a free could potentially be one of the greatest freebies of all time.

Too good to be true.

I think so too. With rafa's no nonsense approach and the roar from the kop i think Adriano could be a beast for us.

Ronaldo is 33 and I'm guessing not far off retirement.

I'd love him to make the wc squad next year.

My favourite all time player. Seeing him live was easily the best non LFC moment I've had in football.

What? You think Rafa's style would suit Adriano?

Adriano is only 27. WTF??

I agree with Keni, even if he is mental, he is worth a punt at this stage, unlike the likes of James Beattie.

Fabiano is 16-1 with William Hill to be the top scorer at the next World Cup.
Lump. On.

Something else I just notcied in those bits posted by J....

Hopefully this is true.

Some of that stuff from Moyes shows exactly why sharing a stadium with the blueslime mustn't even be considered. He admits they have more to gain than we do, but goes on to say they must have equal rights. In other words we'd be giving them a nice fat free ride.

Fuck. That.

And how would the bluenoses be able to paint 'The People's Club' on the outside if they had to share it with us? That puzzle will make Kenwright's head explode.

Get Adriano signed up on a free... As I put in that transfer thread a few weeks ago.

Ronaldo would be a good option B... certainly better than glass knees Van Nistelrooy.

Yes. Ronaldo never gets knee injuries. Apart from the three knee ligament injuries he has had.
