Klopp's gonna send the internet into full meltdown and start Ings or Solanke isn't he?

High-scoring draw. 3-3 or something equally shit.

If we play solanke/ings and score three where’s the issue?

Solanke or Ings scoring 3 league goals? After not scoring one between them in the last 3 years?

That's a good point. And I guess if Jon Flanagan could morph into Xabi Alonso at the same time, then I'd have no issue with that either.

What else can we come up with? This is fun.

I think he means if the team functions with one of them and the team score 3 goals.
I have no faith in solanke at the mo even to function as a semi-competent forward though.

There's no margin for error so Mane, Salah and Firmino play. And I can't see when they're getting any downtime soon.

I'd go all out mental (I have a hole in my leg and haven't slept well in days)

Ward
Gomez Van Dijk Klavan
Trent Hendo Gini Robertson
Mane
Salah Firmino

They will both win

It would be absurd to make any predictions about this game, given that we are so inconsistent, it's also becoming pretty hard to predict what side Klopp will play. He won't have been given many clues about form based on our last two games, although Chamberlain and especially Wijnaldum and Can have been so shit in both of them, I do expect at least some midfield changes, with Henderson and Milner possibilities.

The goalkeeper situation is, obviously, fucked.

It's also tricky to select a RB with Clyne still missing, as Gomez and TAA were also fucking shit in their last appearances.

We don't really have any genuine squad depth either, because ideally Wijnaldum, Can and Chamberlain would be squad players, rather than starting in our best XI, and in attack there's only the hapless Solanke and Ings.

Fuck me, what a shambles.

Karius

WTF !?! Like seriously.

If that's a serious post you should NEVER comment on any of our players ever again 😀

What can you do ? ...... Tony Soprano

If Ings were ever to get a run of games he would score many goals for us but having been out for so long he needs one to get him going. The obvious worry is he starts scoring goals and picks up another injury..............

..........................................Mignolet/Karius (it doesn't matter which)..............................
.....Gomez.................Matip................VVD.................Robertson
.............................Henderson.........Milner..........................
..............Salah..................Firmino..................Mané..............
..............................................Ings..............................

The lack of strength in depth in attack is really concerning. Salah-Firmino-Mane surely can't play every game till the end of the season.

Coutinho's main value was the luxury he afforded in resting at least one of the 'Fab Four'.

We're going to get fucked at some point in the coming months, aren't we?

I'm not sure where that confidence in Ings comes from. I saw him play maybe a couple of times for Burnley and he looked decent enough, but nothing amazing. You could argue that getting 11 Premier league goals for Burnley is impressive, but he's only scored two more since then for us, and been eternally injured since.

It's not really possible to say how good he is, or could be (or was).

There's just not enough evidence.

I think we pretty much all agreed how good Ings looked when he arrived, and then he fucked himself up. I also think he'd thrive with a run of games, but can't see him getting them until someone else fucks themselves up.

He is an average player who works hard. There is nothing between him and Solanke.

I can't even make that comparison either. Although they don't seem that similar in style to me. But Solanke's last couple of appearances have been comically inept.

At least Ings has actually scored a goal in the Premier League once.

Ings is a million times better than Solanke. Only problem is, Ings is shit.

Yeah I don't get the stick Ings comes in for on here. He's coming back from two career-threatening injuries. On the very rare occasions we've seen him fully fit he looks every inch a player who should work well under Klopp. He's also got a better attitude than the vast majority of our soft-bellied fairies. However if we are playing Ings I do think we should take the opportunity to rest Firmino.

Oh and regarding Solanke, don't worry about him, he's going to be fine.

Regarding who picks the ball out of the back of the net, I would still go for Mignolet as he does at least save the occasional shot on target and can therefore make the difference between conceding three (sometimes enough for a draw) and four (which usually results in a defeat).

Mignolet
Gomez Klavan VVD Robertson
Can Henderson Milner
Salah Ings Mane

We'll win 2-1.
