is Jose the greatest manager alive today?

He was brought in to Inter to do the one thing nobody else could do. Win the CL.

He did this inside two years while winning back to back titles and a domestic cup.

Arrogance? Fuck it he deserves to be.

Who compares? Ferguson? Ancelotti?

Great. Another thread with 6CM's tongue firmly up Mourinho's ass crack. All we need now is Terrier to come running along and start posting furiously about "The King".

Unfortunately, you'd have to still go with Ferguson. One of the hardest things to do in football is achieve longevity and that cunt has done it. Mourinho is a fantastic manager and certainly one of the best, but it's undeniable that he has picked his roles well and it would be interesting to see him having to rebuild a side before talking about him as the best ever or whatever.

after when jose spends his customary two years (not in it for the long haul is he?) at real it will be interesting to see where he goes. I wouldn't rule out manu.

This argument goes round in circles, but he's now won titles and European Cups with teams from three different leagues. Porto weren't a brilliant side and he still managed it, Italy was deemed dead and buried a couple of seasons ago. You can always pick holes in the best of managers. People could say that for Fergie to become completely infallible he'd have to do more on the European stage. I understand your point, but it doesn't really take much away from the guy, he wins trophy's consistently both domestically and in Europe and seems to adjust easily to different leagues and styles of football. Unlike some, obv.

Aye, Ferguson.
For me too.

And Capello must also be counted around there.
Mourinho is definitely up there too.

And if trophies are in question Ancelloti has some to show too, and so does Benitez...

I think that until we see what Giggs performes like as a manager it's dangerous to call anyone else 'the best around'
Me too. I'd forgotten what an utter cunt he is what with him being out of sight for 3 years. This last three months has reminded me what a classless fucking twat he is.
I hate the slimy 'look at me' twat!

Haha... I'm suprised he hasn't made any of the world cup squads :🙂

As for Mourinho, he still has a way to go to be named 'the greatest'

Jose is going to meet the Madrileños soon enough. That will be his first struggle for some years... They dont toleratew winning games boring... They will never accept his defensive tactics. They are just as arrogant as him. A partnership made in hell, and he will grow just as frustrated with the fans as they will grow with him!!!

Giggs has been given a special 'guest' status by fifa, but its not being announced until the opening ceremony.

The status will allow him to guest star in any team at the world cup he chooses, but doesn't restrict him to that country.

Haha the LMA Manager of the Year trophy is already engraved with his name for the 10 years after Fergie resigns.

Mourinho is a smug cunt but he is the best in the game. He has proven it in every country that he has coached and it will be no different in Spain.

The amount of titles he has won in the last decade is ridiculous. He'll surpass Fergie's total amount of titles in the next few years at the rate he is going.

I can't understand how anyone still knocks him. Mark pointed out the fact he turned a so called dead league into the champions of Europe in 2 years.

He took a team regularly winning their domestic title and turned them into a team who won the domestic title and won the European title.

It's not knocking him to say he picks his clubs well.

Chelsea - fantastic nucleus and on the cusp of getting there
Inter - 3 in a row Serie A
Real Madrid - 2nd place the last two years, with Ronaldo/Kaka/Xabi/Benzema AND unlimited funds

He'll never be in the same league as Slur Alex ...

Never say never.

If anyone's going to emulate Ferguson, Capello, Lippii & co then it's going to be Mourinho.

In fact he's arguably ahead of some of those already.

If he keeps on his current trend of managing the top teams in the league BEFORE he arrives, then I cannot see it. If he takes say a Valencia or a Palermo or a Liverpool and makes them dominant, he's taken himself to the highest level imo.

totally agree wiz

He's better than Ferguson in my view. The only thing I think Ferguson is better at is bringing through young players.
