So who's gone this summer?

Most likely, not whom you would most likey...

Poulsen
Jovanovic
Konchesky
Reina
And lots of kids

That's my guess.

Depends how much money we've got to buy replacements. I'm not sure there's much point letting Joe Cole go, for instance, unless his sale allows us to buy someone better.

I have a feeling Magic and Reina both might be sold, as we'd get good money for them that we could spend on areas of the team in more need of repair.

Reina might well go but I doubt he has decided for sure yet.

I imagine Cole is also on his way. Too high wages for nowhere near enough results. Aurelio should be off too as he is no use at all

Kyrgiakos, Pacheco, Maxi and N'gog might also go depending on who we have coming in.

I'd also advocate selling Skrtel or Agger (or even both) rather than the Greek, if we're going to buy a new CB - for the same reason.

So we're keeping Suarez, carroll, gerrard, carragher and..... Maxi & Lucas.

Great that we're signing 10 odd players.

Aquilani
Cole
Pepe

AndLots of insignificant ones

Thats a weird way to put it....

My Guess
Konchesky
Reina
Poulsen
Jovanovic
N'Gog
Pacheco
Maxi

Dream Scenario
As above but without Reina and adding Lucas.

Lucas has been given a new contract.

I did say I didn't expect him to leave. Also, he wouldn't be the first player to sign a new contract and be sold a few months later so it's still possible although very unlikely.

So was Sissoko, just before we sold him.

Hmmm, not sure, the obvious ones are
Poulsen
Konchesky

Pouslen as he is just crap and slow and has no place in the squad, Konchesky for much the same reason, but mainly because of his mothers blatherings, from which there was no way back.

We need to be careful on who we do get shut of because we do need to build the squad strength, and need yet to see some of the reserves full capabilities.

I would like to keep Cole to see if he has just been unlucky this year.

I hope we still have Reina

regards

I'd like to keep Cole too ideally but I fear he may be considered as a player who is paid far too much for any potential benefit he might bring.

Cole could have few complaints about being moved on, although he may well curse his luck.

Poulsen, Konch and Jova are certainties. Aquilani looks quite likely too, and Reina is 50/50.

Losing Aquilani and Cole would free up £160k a week, which is a very tidy sum.

Konchesky
Jovanovic
Cole
Aquilani
Insua
Pacheco
Maxi
N'Gog
Aurelio (released)
Poulsen

I think Reina will stay. He may have had his head turned, but FSG will show ambition and he'll stay.

Jones
Konchesky
Aurelio
Pacheco
Jovanovic
Kyrgiakos
Maxi
Ngog
Poulsen
Aquilani
Degen
El Zhar
Insua

I hope Cole stays one more season, he could do better in a 3 man midfield with Gerrard and a defensive midfielder.

Clubs never ever EVER make wholesale squad changes that involve selling 13 players in one transfer window.

Actually, maybe they do if they're going into administration, but that's it. It doesn't happen. And it won't happen to us.

I'd rather keep Maxi over Cole for a number of reasons - better fitness, better ball retention, helping bed in any new Argie/SA buys, fewer pointless interviews, Cole probably being on bigger wages, Cole probably commanding a better fee if we sell him due to his Englishness, etc.

I don't mind us keeping Sotos for one more season if we don't get a top quality centreback. He's no Pellegrino (thankfully!), is probably on a relatively low wage, and would offer the insurance of experienced backup in the event Ayala or Wilson don't pan out next season. Given Agger's and Kelly's injury histories, I think we can stay on the safe side with him.

Add to that list a few youngsters that will probably be cut or shifted along: Hansen, Eccleston, Amoo, Irwin, Darby, Mavinga, etc.

Jones-on loan
Konchesky-on loan
Aurelio
Pacheco-on loan
Jovanovic
Kyrgiakos
Maxi
Ngog
Poulsen
Aquilani-on loan
Degen-on loan
El Zhar-on loan
Insua-on loan

True, but 7 of them are currently out on loan, 4 of them since the beginning of the season. It's pretty likely that half of them will not be back.

Aurelio and Kyrgiakos have expiring contracts this year, maybe only one of them will be renewed.

Pacheco might be loaned out, Poulsen and Jovanovic can't get a look in under Kenny so I expect them to leave too. As for Maxi and N'gog, they're both not good enough so I hope Kenny sells them too.

Ideally, I would sell both of them to bring in better players but I have a soft spot for Cole. I think he has been unlucky this season with the early sending off and subsequent injuries. Maybe a pre-season under Kenny will do wonders for him.
