Tipped to be Rodgers No 2..

Is this FSG putting a new structure in place for Rodger's or is this simply FSG putting the structure in place post Rodgers.. ? Or both... Prolonged sacking... ??

Rodgers is best known for being a coach rather than a 'manager..' and some would argue he is damn fine one..

Whilst it is welcome to bring new experienced back room guys in and giving the useless lot we have the boot.. you just cannot help but feel, there might be more to this than meets the eye..

Rodgers probably won't be having a say over the matters, so will this make his positron untenable?

Pako fits the FSG mould.. and promoting from within, if the worst was to happen.. Would save FSG quite a bit financially..

Is Pako the right man either way?

He's said nice things about Rodgers and his style in the past, so there'd be less friction there than with some other candidates. He's also pretty tactful, so even if all he did was get the players fitter and got the ball played out of defence a bit quicker it would be an improvement. But he's surely determined now to pursue a career as a manager. It would be a strange move to revert to being an assistant unless he's been told there will be a chance of a quick promotion.

I read that Pako only interested in Manager post. But how do FSG sitting over in Boston know anything about Pako? I start to wonder if Stevie has some advises going? Or is it someone else feeding them info. This Gordon (?) guy might be interested but how does he knows his stuff? I mean Pako is probably a good shout, but if there aint People in the know making these assignments we might loose out on some top People that might be avilable. If they are to Challenge Rodgers they need to have a well Connected DOF who knows his shit, his contacts and what to look for. Not only some cybermathics or what they refer to...

As I said last week, I think some of these decisions have to have come at least partly after discussions with senior players, or a player, and Gerrard makes the most sense. There's no way Gordon, Ayre or anyone else on the board knows in detail how training works on a daily basis, or what goes on in the dressing room and dug out, and you'd need that info to make an informed judgement about Pascoe (yes, yes, we can all have a good guess, but you know what I mean!). That leaves Rodgers himself - and I really don't think he'd contradict himself about such input - or probably Gerrard, briefed before he goes. Gerrard has heaped praise on Rodgers but has been scrupulously silent about the rest. And Gerrard loves Pako. So I suspect it goes back to him.
