D-Week in term of the future of our club..

Optimistic, pessimistic, anxious ?

Come the end of the week we may very much know the where we stand in terms of the future of our beloved Reds..

Given the many false dawn I have endured as a Liverpool supporter, I am currently very anxious on how things will pan out.

Having said that I'm loving the spin the board are throwing out in terms of the worse case scenario. You only have to hope that any Judge who is going to force the ownership case has been following this with great interest.

The way I see it, despite the way football is run the days, Liverpool FC has History and very much stamped its Heritage on the history of the game and is something that very much needs to be protected. This for me has to be taken into account when the Judge decides his verdict. It would be criminal and detrimental to the modern game to rule in favour of those twats otherwise.

I am ready to put in a fight, and I am not even there..... So I trust that our squad of lawyers are really ready to put in the fight themselves. We are litterary going to throw the fucking yanks out this week, and install some new yanks.... And they have been demonstrated first hand what happens to yanks that dont behave themselves!!!

I am nervous based on the fact that there seems to be less talk of only Broughton as Chairman having the right to sack Purslow and Ayres and his written undertaking of that from Hicks and more of that the sale to NESV being in the best interests of the club.

Along with all the PR in the media and with some heavy hitting legal people being brought in to represemnt LFC in court I worry that it is far from being a closed case.
I suspect if we lose the case on Tuesday, Hicks will have a new board and approval for new refinancing before the October 15th deadeline. I doubt we will end up in administration either way, but if Hicks wins the court case administration might be a blessing compared to the next two years under his ownership.

if it was open and shut, Hicks wouldn't have pursued it. He (and his team of lawyers) obviously think they can win this...

That one sentence explains the existence of the legal profession.

sharks! 😉

Well, obviously ;D

But in all seriousness, it doesnt matter how bad the case is, they'll go to court because there's always a chance they'll win..and more importantly, the other side know it...and are willing to talk $$$ to make them go away.

If there were no greed, there'd be no lawyers.

I am slightly worried about Hicks' welfare. If he drags Pool through a court, ending up loosing 9 points before he goes banckrupt and looses the club anyway, I am seriously thinking it is dangerous for the fat man to move around safely?

I'm very confident it all go through smoothly, and NVES will be our new owners.

After that, not so confident. But we shall see.

And then there were five. I shan't rest easy until it's all done, but I think the chances are in our favour.

I'm not sure that the situation will actually resolve itself during the course of this week. Whichever side loses the Court case is bound to appeal, thus taking the litigation beyond 15th October. Whether the RBS will then put the company into administration, and if so, whether the Premier League will consider this justifies a 9 point deduction, is anybody's guess.

It's not automatic that Hicks would be able to appeal if he loses. I'm sure he'll try, but as I understand it he'd have to get permission from the court and that, while usually given, isn't guaranteed.

I should think if Broughton wins, the Court would allow Hicks to appeal, because it is such an unusual point of law, the shareholders being unable to influence the composition of the Board of Directors. There's a possibility that this is completely unprecedented.

My take is that RBS had appointed Broughton as 'Receivers & Managers' because G&H were unable to service/repay the loan. Except that it was not done through a court, otherwise 9 points would already been deducted.

Snap.

And people being all confident about it just makes me even more nervous.

It will go through with no problem, IMO.

Afterwards they are going to have a lot of work to do resurrecting this club, so I will withhold judgement until we see what they're made of, and treat any of their press statements with complete contempt, because I will be judging them solely on the following:

- Attracting a new manager to the club
- Providing funding for an overhaul of this squad
- Moving the stadium process forward.
- Being around Anfield from time to time.

It's nt impossible though.

He has the chance to frustrate us for a time, if he does that he might win even without having a good legal case.

I´ll be amazed if Hicks pulls this one out of the bag.
