Oxlade-Chamberlain at Arsenal now having medical.

Swansea wants Trezeguet! 4th choice striker for us? 😉

Spurs have bid for Bryan Ruiz, allegedly.

Alan Pardew has made a personal check on Holland left back Erik Pieters as he lines up a replacement for Jose Enrique.

In an almost subliminal message of a post i just read a thread starter by oncy which said that we had signed Enrique which then told me i couldn read it.... weird japes.... I couldnt give a fuck that arsenal are signing chamberlain and chelsea are signing lukaku .... they were never going to make the grade like Downing will.... Are we signing Enrique?? Or is that on a need to know basis?

AOC will cost Arsenal 7 up front and 5 in add ons.
bit gutted he didn't want to come here. yet another target who jibbed us off.

Yep, but he's been nailed on for Arsenal for ages though. Strange that they're signing him now though, they need sommany other first team positions filled first.

Wonder what people will think of the fee for a 17 year old, when we paid 10 + 6 or 13+ 3 pending which report you read for Henderson.

Some gooners are pretty pissed mate. Everyones acknowledging that he will probably be a fantastic player, but come the end of the windowl i guarantee we'll be short (we need 2 defenders a midfielder and a striker imo) and for me the Chamberlain money would have been better spent on one of those more necessary signings.

Still, if he's as good as he's apparently going to be all will be forgiven in time.

Have the "Cahill to Arsenal" rumours gone away? (I hope so, because I want us to sign him).
No the rumours have taken off again these last few days...our head scout was at Boltons last game, it was against Levante though who we have loaned a player to, so not sure who he was watching. England are at our training ground (apparently) would be great if we could call Cahill over for a chat!

15m?? Fuck me. I thought he looked alright but nowhere near that value

i don't at all. he's quick. thats it. Doesn't seem that intelligent, not that clinical. Unimpressed
My mates a Saints season ticket holder and he reckons Oxlade is better than Walcott or Bale at that age. He is rapid, direct, powerful and can use both feet. Good signing for Arsenal and along with Gervinho thats their advance options sorted out even when the two bellends leave.
They still need a LB, CB and a DM or tough tackling CM though.
I guess we need a LB and CB
United need a CM and a RB
Chelsea need a DM
City......probably ok really.
Spurs? CF and CB i guess.
When we were first linked with Chamberlain didn't someone say that Saints fans didn't even think he was their best prospect. That there was another lad there who was going to be better.
Could be totally wrong though.
What does your mate say?

Cleverly and Smalling/Jones combo are good enough I feel (sadly)

I thought Lallana was the pick of the Saints youngsters ?
Llallana is excellent but i dont think he is all that young or will get much better?
Ive text my boy, i'll get back to you in a mo.

Cleverly is more offensive isn't he? Jones can play rb though which is a worry
Cleverly hasnt impressed me to much yet. Overrated.
I think he's a tidy player mate. eye for a pass and has good feet. similar to Henderson really.

Yup you were right.

Nope. Don't get me wrong he's very good and has fantasic potential. But that's all it is.... Potential.
To get £12 million+ for a 17 year old that has only played 3rd level football is unreal!! He's got no championship experience, no premier league experience, no European competition experience, no international experience etc etc.... I'm personally over the moon with that amount of money. That's basically what Utd paid for Ashley young, a full international.
AOC is no doubt one of the best young talents this country has, but its a massive gamble by Arsenal. They should really be spending their money a bit more wisely imo. Apparently thier fans are livid.
Now if we're talking about Adam lallana..... Now he's by far and away our best prospect. Our team is basically being built around him. Footballing genius!
