Slot, does he deserve a new contract?

Given what he has achieved, does he deserve an improved contract? I think he is on €8m a year. If yes, what you take it to?

I think he signed a 3 year deal, so I'd be fine with the club extending that by a few more years now. It''s not a priority, though. Hughes has plenty to be doing as it is.

I hope for Arnes sake that his wife/family can make it over year sooner rather than later

Not really no, seeing as he's probably on an incentivised contract anyway.

There is more to a contract than "3 years - fixed annual pay of 7m a season" you know.

I think we should be talking to him / his agent in the summer and I suspect we will. I've no idea what managers get paid these days (please don't quote articles at me, they're no more reliable than those databases of player salaries) but he deserves to be up there with the top guys in the Premier League.

Hasn't there already been some stories about us wanting to extend his contract? Knowing from experience how Richard Hughes work with these contracts it will probably run down to 2027 before anything might happen.

He’s had a phenomenal start and may possibly if the stars align and we get no more injuries and Arsenal lose more games win the league.

But, and this is to take nothing away from the amazing work he’s done so far, this is Klopp’s team.

It’s valid to argue just how good he is because of what he’s managed to achieve with someone else’s squad.

But, I’d want to see just what he manages with his own squad and own choice of players.

Ditto. The handling of Chiesa (or even Endo) is quite perplexing too - as if to prove a point (to Hughes/those in charge of making signings).

yeh that’s going to be interesting perhaps. Heard on the radio that he prefers to have a smaller squad of higher quality players.
