In the last two games, (in my opinion) Pepe Reina has been at fault for conceding two goals. Should he be benched? Or should Brendan Rodgers have faith in a goalkeeper who has been a rock for us in the past?

A good old fashioned poll to get the opinions on this.

Historically he always impressed me by his ability to get over a mistake (compared to Carson, Dudek, James, Kirkland, Westerveld etc who took months to get over one, if at all). But now he's not even doing that.

I'm gonna say yes. Even if just to see how he reacts to it.

I'd drop Gerrard for a game or two though. Fire him up and let him know he needs to adapt fast to this system or think again.

Am I the only one who saw Shelvey loose Carzola completely for the second goal - well not loose exactly - more like stop and watch him run in to the space to receive the one-two.

We don't have other keepers that are going to be better than him.

I agree that what we have on the bench is not as good as what Reina is, but it is to make a point to him that we cannot tolerate consistently bad goalkeeping, he was beaten at the near post a few times last season also. It is not good enough. I love Reina but last season he was poor and he hasn't started great this season. Let him know he is not a guaranteed start if he is making these mistakes.

Ha ha. I actually thought he was going to really progress a couple of years ago, but the last time he went out on loan he really seemed to regress. I was a bit stunned when I saw him in pre-season, he was wretched.

I voted No, dont think our back ups are good enough

Though can we still loan players?

Brad friedal would be worth a punt if Llorris becomes first choice

i wana say yes, but realistically brad jones is still far worse than a bumbling reina, so im gona say no, we do need to buy a better back up keeper at some point although we obviously have greater concerns

It's a bit of an empty threat because he knows, just as we do, that the other guys are shit and there is no way on earth we'll ever persist with them.

Brad would immediately become shit again if he returned. This place is Kryptonite for good players.

So so true, how many great young keepers have we had at the club who have gone to shit. Kirkland and Carson were both labelled the best young keeper in Britain.

Yeah that's right, it's a bit of a shit situation. Remember how uneasy we all were when Brad Jones was in goal. I am losing a lot of faith in Reina from last season and this start.

We have no one to drop him for - but he desperately needs dropping. He's cost us 3 goals in 3 games now. For a team not yet scoring goals, he's costing us points ...

I agree with Buddha re: Gerrard too. One game, get him fired up ... I think Keni mentioned it, but put him up front with NO defensive responsibilities. He's our best finisher, let Mr. Borini & Suarez create room for him. He can score goals ...

Not having a dig at Reina, but when we had to rely on Doni and then Jones, I don't think we lost a game did we?
