I'm hearing that Remi Garde will be the next Aston Villa manager - #avfc
Also hearing that Tim Sherwood will lose £2m in compensation if he takes another job within the next twelve months.

I don't understand that.

If I where Villa I'd be praying the useless twat got appointed manager at a fellow relegation battler as soon as possible.

It would do Villa prospects of staying up a world of good having Sherwood manage someone like Norwich...

Hahaha, yes!

Apart from the fact that Sherwood ket Villa up last season, they were looking doomed in February and scored less than 0.5 goals a game under Lambert, he came in and turned them around. Plus they beat us in a semi-final.

You say that as if it's some kind of achievement.

[article]Whoever takes over from Tim Sherwood faces a tough task to keep bottom-of-the-table Aston Villa in the Premier League with only four points from 10 games.

History suggests it's at best a 50-50 chance. Since the start of the Premier League a total of 12 clubs have had starts to the season as bad or worse.
Six of them went down, but six survived. They were Sheffield Wednesday in 2000, Sunderland in 2014, Southampton in 2013 and 1994, Blackburn in 1997, and Crystal Palace who stayed up in 2014 despite having only three points at the same stage.[/article]

Dwight 'I'm a manc through and through' Yorke has announced he wants to manage 'his' club. Great stuff.

I don't know much about their new manager (ex Lyon coach)Remi Garde. Wenger seems to rate him.

The Villa fans are so desperate they're quite keen on Moyes or Rodgers. I suppose what Moyes did with Everton is very appealing to them, given how awful they've been since the "glory" days of MoN.

But it's the players they need to worry about; they don't have enough good ones who know how to play in the Premiership.

He couldn't look after his special needs child.
Scumbag fucked off after the first sign that it wasn't going to be easy.

Do they really get that payout regardless of how they perform ? - I don't think it to be true, there must be some clause in their contract that says - you must win at least X number of games, and then if we decide to sack you we will pay you Y pounds. Can't be that simple that you get that payout regardless.

Pretty sure Jurgen Klopp doesn't have a clause like this lol

It's kind of a win-win. Nobody would expect them to get much from that, so you could get away with almost no points, anything is a bonus.
With their points tally so far, I think even that would be wishful thinking for the new manager. I think they'll likely have a caretaker manager during that period.

Anyone called Ron from Merseyside should apply. They seem to do well at Villa. Ron Saunders - the most miserable man in the world, a man who made Easter Island monuments seem expressive, built the team that won the European Cup. Ron Atkinson, usually bought our players and did okay there. So find someone called Ron, that's my advice to Ronny, er, Randy Lerner.
