That list proves that Calavieri, SPearing and Poulsen are better than Babel 😉

Morse's MOTM table is the possibly the most accurate guide of assessing the contribution of a Liverpool player at the end of a season.
What? No it's not. You're off your head.
I think it is. In terms of their worth to the team this season, I pretty much agree 100% with the current list, and will probably agree with it at the end of the season.

How did Lucas do last year in "the most accurate guide of assessing the contribution of a Liverpool player at the end of a season"?

I like how you think the fact that you agree with it is some sort of recommendation.

I'm not sure why the mish is getting so much stick?

The table is obviously not an ideal barometer; but the results over the course of the season usually do suggest which players have done well.

I think the mistake is only in thinking that that table is a good way to determine who should play in any given match; whichshould be done by determining which players are better against the the next opposing team, not prior performances against different opponents.

It obviously isn't and it was never what I suggested. I believe it is an excellent indicative tool for judging a player's contribution over the course of the season.

Okay, just had a look at last year's table and Lucas was 3rd- which would ruin any sort of credibility it has. But, I do believe RAWK was voting last year, and they're not this year?

No they weren't. Everyone assumed they were, because of Lucas' high placing. It just turns out that every other site seemed to think he was better than we did.

I certainly don't think John Henry should hire him for the stat analyst role in the strategic team at any rate...

The whole Midfield was shit, well more like none existant.

We just hoofed the ball from our penalty Area as far as we could, the 'midfield' just watched it sailing over thier heads!

Tactically we was utterly utterly CRAP

*Forced to retreat now*

The reason I posted the table was primarily because I found it pretty amusing that Lucas was sitting at the foot of the table whereas Shelvey had picked up 2 MOTM's already.

I have made my point regard regarding them amply clear several times and it remains regardless. The table is of course NOT one of the reasons for such opinion.

Shelvey lost possession once or twice but at least he was positive in his play. He played one lovely cross field ball to Torres at one stage. He isn't a right winger, nor is Meireles so I don't know Roy is persisting with playing them there.

Let's not forget Shelvey is 18 years of age and plays with maturity way beyond his years. No one could string three passes together last night so let's not single out Jonjo.

True, that was a very good pass. Xabi-esque, even.

He seems to have a lot of technical ability, an eye for a pass and great balance. He isn't a right winger and everyone struggled in that second half so let's not judge him after 45 mins.

Tongue, spidey. Tongue.

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has urged young midfielder Jonjo Shelvey to learn from his more experienced team-mates in order to become a Barclays Premier League star of the future.

The highly-rated 18-year-old was signed from Charlton late last season for £1.7million, which could rise to £3million.

He was fast-tracked into the first-team squad thanks to Hodgson's decision to use fringe players in the Europa League.

That has led the England youth international making four Premier League substitute appearances.

And while he has yet to really make his mark at this level Hodgson believes he has the quality to succeed.

"I haven't thought when Jonjo Shelvey plays a good game that it lifts him above Raul Meireles, Lucas Leiva or Christian Poulsen because they are good players too," said the Reds boss.

"What is good to see is that a young player we have invested money in is proving to be worth his money and is proving to be the future prospect we think he is.

"He is a confident young man but he's modest and he knows there is a lot of work to be done before he can hold his hand up and say 'Look at me, what a good Premier League player I am'.

"In players like Steven Gerrard, in particular, and also Poulsen, Meireles and Lucas he has people he can look at and say 'That's the benchmark'."

With all-but Jamie Carragher (shoulder) and Jay Spearing (ankle) fit in the first team squad the younger players are unlikely to see much action in the coming weeks.

Their opportunities were reduced further when the traditionally-busy festive period was eased somewhat by postponements against Fulham and Blackpool over the last two weekends.

And with Hodgson pledging to field a stronger team in Europe now they are through to the knockout stages many will be reduced to the role of bit-part players again.

What exactly are Pucas the benchmark for?

How not to play the game

His insistance on even mentioning Poulsens name each time he talks about cm makes me fucking cringe.
You signed an over the hill, slow, sack of shit and paid millions for him. You and he are a fucking joke Roy.
The cunt is probably earning 50k a week to be a slower shitter version of Lucas and not play.
Fuck it makes me fume.

I'm almost past the point of getting angry with the horrible, useless, budgie-faced old cunt.

He's just pitiful.
