Hahaha yeah Juventus will go from having greats like Paolo Montero, Cannavaro, Zambrotta gracing their defence to the likes of Shawcross Poulsen?

And if Stoke do sell Shawcross it will be for a highly inflated price as is the norm with English footballers.

What a joke it is when clubs like Sunderland and Stoke put 15M+ tags on Henderson and Shawcross.

Why is that a joke?

It's more the opposite thats a joke when cash cows like City rape clubs like Shrewsbury over Hart, when they signed him for what half a million.

I have no idea why it is Scott Dann being mentioned in transfer speculation to bigger clubs rather than Roger Johnson. Last season everyone rightly raved about Johnson's performances and Dann was a decent support act. What has changed? Roger Johnson is a significantly better player than Dann and without Johnson beside him I have my doubts as to whether or not Dann is even good enough for the EPL.

STOKE City chairman Peter Coates has slapped a 'Not For Sale' sign on club skipper Ryan Shawcross in response to mounting speculation over a possible January exit, writes Martin Spinks.

Manchester United and Liverpool have been linked with a possible bid for the central defender, main picture, as they wrestle with shortages within their current squads.

United sold Shawcross to Stoke in a £2m deal in January 2008, after he had initially spent six months on loan at the Britannia Stadium, but their interest does not necessarily end there.

Sir Alex Ferguson also insisted on a clause which means Stoke must inform him of any subsequent deal to sell the 23-year-old, who has scored 14 goals in 126 appearances for the Potters.

Shawcross signed a new four-and-a-half year contract in November 2009 and Coates says there are no good footballing or financial reasons for Stoke to part company with the young defender in January.

"He's a good player, so there is always going to be interest in good players," said Coates, below.

"But Ryan is our player and that is how we intend to keep it. He's not for sale."

Coates believes the partnership between club and player could not be stronger, while the centre-half's home life is also a significant factor in believing he is happy to remain at Stoke. "He's very settled in the area with his young family," he continued.

"I think everyone can see that he is advancing his career with us after joining us at an early age and progressing.

"We are good for him and he is good for us – and that is always the perfect partnership."
