So who are we wanting on this ins/out for the summer?

I'd be delighted with something like this;

Out;
Matip - £10M
Ox - £20m
Naby - £30m
Wilson - £20m

Total £80m

In;

Konate - £30m
Koulibaly - £30m Rising
Goncalves £52m
Neuhaus - £30m Rising
Harvey Elliot - £Frig all

Total £142m

I make that about £22m over the desired budget, as you figure there has to be a £40m kitty (or more) as we've spent relatively little in the last couple of years.

We won't sell Matip imo ...
Ox & Naby - if we get those offers, we will.
Wilson - I doubt we'll get 20 million, but I think he deserves to have Shaq's role and we sell shaq for 10 million. We'll save money in wages.

In - Konate - excellent. Don't need another CB imo, we have Phillips and if necessary, 18 million on Kabak.
Goncalves - doubtful.
Nehuas - he's staying
Bissouma - 30 million.
#9 - someone throw a name out

Growing rumours that Kabak will not be bought. Which is a shame.

It's silly if we pass on Kabak for the 18 million quoted .
If he is not required next season we should loan him out and definitely with his potential within a year or two his worth would be minimum double that amount.
He is a Turkish international with experience in both premier League and Bundesliga and @ 20 years age great potential to increase in value.

For once I'd like to see a proper clear out.....

Ox - £20m
Grujic - £15m
Wilson - £15m
Karius - £5m
Gomez - £40m
Shaq - £10m
Keita - £30m
Origi - £20m
Woodburn £5

That's £160m

Buy
Konate £35
Conclaves £50m
Hlozek £15m
Karabec £15m
Buendia £35m

That's £140m which hopefully would leave Klopp with an extra £60+ to splash on some top talent that the scouts have spotted.

Obviously nothing remotely like this will happen but I got a boner just posting this.

and at your age, it's well worth it!

I'd be very sad to see Matip go. Top class defender when fit, has barely put a foot wrong and probably our second best defender. We got him for free, so why the urgency to get rid?

Yeah, I'm fine for Matip to stay. We just can't count on him though so we need to make sure we have a Number 2 next to Virgil.

30 million for Naby? That like trying to sell a Telsa for 100k but declaring to potential buyers that the battery is faulty most of the year. I think well be lucky to get 20m for Naby.

I'd keep Wilson.
You have other players you could sell.
Div £15m
Grujic £15m
Karius free.
Ty £8m (work permit kid)
Ojo £8m
Woodburn £5m
Shaq £17m
None of these other than Shaq and Div even make the bench. The difficulty will be finding buyers as majority of clubs will be cash strapped.
Those Nike designs have been horrendous, otherwise, shirt sales would have been far greater. Next seasons design looks to be no improvement.

What about Grujic? Scored today for Porto in a league match today and was one of their best players. I'm open to keeping him especially with the looming threat of Gini leaving.

He was mediocre in Germany. Suitable offer comes, he should go.

I had hopes for Grujic initially but something's gone badly wrong between him and the club behind the scenes - don't know what exactly, but the breakdown in communications doesn't seem just football-related to me.

I rate Matip highly but I'd move him on now. He's good enough to have a regular place, but always gets crocked when he achieves it. We simply can't rely on him. Tempted to say the same about Gomez but as he's younger I'd give him one more go(mez).

Wilson can do a good job for someone further down the pyramid, possibly even another Prem side, but IMHO is basically not up to LFC standard.

Before all the speculation starts a reminder of the Premiership rules stating a minimum of 8 homegrown players (over 21 and English football league trained for at least 3 years before 21) and 17 foreign players.

Our 8 homegrown next year at the moment would be Kelleher, Gomez, Trent, Nat Philips, Ben Davies, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain & Henderson.

The 17 overseas are Allison, Adrian, Van Dijk, Robertson, Matip, Tsimakis, Kabak, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Keita, Shaqiri, Thiago, Firmino, Mane, Salah, Origi and Jota.

If we sell Davies and Ox they will have to be replaced with English qualified players. Or retaining a loanee like Harry Wilson.

There's plenty of scope for freeing up the overseas contingent with quite a few in that list surplus to requirements.

I think the rule is max 17 foreign players. There's no stipulation of 8 minimum home grown.

If you have say 6 home grown players, your squad stops at 23. But that isn't such a worry because there's no limitation on the number of u-21 academy players you can field. The likes of Jones, Elliott and Neco are part of the senior set up in any case.

My concern are the new signings - I'd expect most of them to be foreign.

So we'd need to trim our existing foreign players. I expect Origi, Shaq, Grujic and Wijnaldum to leave freeing up space.

There's also the chance that we don't make the Kabak deal permanent.

Our first and second team next season:

Keepers:
Alisson, Kelleher
Comment: I'm fine with this

Right-backs:
Trent, Neco, Gomez
Comment: I'm OK with this too, Neco will be a year older and will gain more experience playing in the Euro's. We have Gomez as well.

Left-backs: Robbo, Tsimikas
Comment: I don't know what to make of Tsimikas. He hasn't really impressed, but Klopp will probably give him another year.

Centre-backs: Van Dijk, Matip, Gomez, Philips, Williams, Van den Berg
Comment: Looks great on paper, but fragile fitness-wise in reality. I think we could do with a 5th senior defender. Williams needs a loan move and Sepp did well on loan so he should go out again and hopefully he continues on that trajectory.

Defensive midfield: Fabinho
Comment: I actually think we need another defensive midfielder. Hendo can do a job there, but he's a starter, so we need a decent backup.

Midfield: Thiago, Henderson, Milner, Jones
Comment: We need another midfielder. Keita, Ox and Grujic should be sold. I'm liking the Bissouma links. I'd get Pereira from WBA to play attacking midfield.

Wing-forwards: Salah, Jota, Mané, Elliott
Comment: Wilson and Shaq will most likely be sold. I don't really know what position Minamino has, but it just hasn't worked out for him. Southampton seems keen, let them have him. Getting another wing-forward would be good but it's maybe not a priority.

Strikers: Firmino
Comment: Time to let Origi go. We need someone to compete with Bobby. Should be our first priority imo.

Summary:

Priority signings: Striker, midfielder, defender, in that order.

Luxury signings: Wing forward, defensive midfielder, left back.

Sell:
Davies
Grujic
Ox
Keita
Shaq
Wilson
Minamino
Woodburn
Ojo
Taiwo
Origi

Should generate a decent amount of cash.

Pretty spot on to my thinking too. Konate + Kabak would strengthen the core. I'd add Matip to the sell list in that scenario. Williams needs a loan to the champioship

Wing Forward as you put it, the Polish Messi could be knocking on the door here too.

For me we need another RB. Neco's promising but not yet ready to be a stand-in against the best, and I do not want to see Gomez at RB ever again. Gomez is actually a lot more reliable on the left when he plays wide though, so I don't think we need more at LB.

I'd be tempted to use Millie as Fabs' back-up at DM. Not convinced he'll have the legs for a more mobile assignment in central midfield, so preferably we could do with an addition there.

Further forward, IMO we already have another option for Bobby centrally, namely Diogo Jota. He's at least as good there as he is starting from wide positions. Not persuaded we're likely to sign someone noticeably better than big Divock as a stand-in, but if we can we should.

I'd keep Wilson and see how he does in the preseason games. Matip should be on the list. The big question is, will we find buyers? As most clubs are strapped for cash, so I'm not sure how many of those we will be bale to shift.

Our buying depends on Klopp's tactical plans I suppose

If he switches to 4-2-3-1, we don't need a Wijnaldum replacement, because we have Fabinho, Henderson, Thiago and Keita for the "2". This system would probably require a genuine number 9 - unless Salah moves there.

Sticking with 4-3-3 will make a box-to-box midfielder one of the priorities, as well as a finding a deep-lying forward to compete with Firmino
