So basically looking for any tips from people who have sold a house in the past that can ensure a smooth selling process/ things you would advise doing in advance of putting it on the market to maximise interest/value etc.
Won't go into too much context but basically I inherited my family home a few years ago and am now selling it so that me and my sister can split the money and get separate flats/houses.
We've been advised that selling a large family home is best done around March/April as that is when families are going to look to move so that they are moved in before the next school year.
I have started going home at weekends to start emptying the rooms of unwanted items, with a view to then touch up paint where necessary and make rooms generally look clean and spacious.
All top tipcs appreciated. I am considering getting in a decorator to re-do the main entrance/ hall as this is the first thing people will see so spending a few hundred on getting this repainted would likely be worthwhile..
Thanks in advance!
