Toure, Borini, Coady and Wisdom will not be sold - despite what I'd like to happen. I doubt Suso will return from Spain .. again despite what I'd like to happen. I think Agger will be sold and Skrtel stay (on the bench I hope).

We will still need at least 4-5 of your suggestions if we are competing in the CL and trying to maintain a title challenge. We currently have one of the smallest PL squads and we'll need to strengthen it to the tune of 8-10 players (inc. bringing players back in from loan) on top of the numbers we have now.

If someone paid 8m for Allen I would be seriously tempted to sell.

I am unsure on Alberto - if someone offered 4m, I could be tempted, especially with Rossiter and Wilson coming through.

I would put him ahead of Flanno in terms of future potential. Last time I heard he was doing well at Derby and probably the exact thing he needs to remind him of how good lfc can be for him.

I used to rate Kelly but he's not the same since his injury - telling he is not making the squad. I think wisdom has the pace and strengh to be a good fullback.

Borini is probably the one we'll get the most money on but even there we'll end up taking a hit. Reina will go for next to nothing. We know there is interest in Aspas but it remains to be seen whether anyone will stump up a proper fee for him. That leaves Assaidi who may surprise and get us a few more million than perhaps we were expecting.

I'm very disappointed with the way things have turned out for Kelly. He looked a real talent but right now it just doesn't look like it's going to happen for him. A loan or a sale with a buy back clause would be in both parties interests.

Coady, Wisdom, Suso, Illori and Ibe could probably do with going out on loan again. I think it's too early to make any decisions on their futures and none of them will get enough game time at Liverpool to aid their development.

We need to sort out the CB situation. We need Sakho fit for next season and to decide who is going to partner him be it someone already at the club or a new guy. I'd keep Toure for another season (what's the point of getting rid?) and sell one of Skrtel / Agger depending on transfer plans. Coates is obviously redundant and will go for a pittance (that is if we can actually sell him - it may have to be a loan).

Moses and Cissokho obviously can go.

So, we need at least one really good fullback, a forward, a midfielder and possibly a central defender.

If Suarez goes then obviously there is a lot of thinking to do about how the forward line shapes up and the impact on midfield.

To be honest, I don't think we need to get rid of any of those outside of Reina, as his wages are unnecessary.


Kelly and Coates we would be selling for almost nothing, we'd be selling at the lowest point in their value possible. I'd take the gamble and loan them out for an year, as a good season could easily double the fee we get. Same goes for Robinson, every time I see news about him, he's gotten another red card.

Coady and Wisdom seem to be doing well on loan, but I don't know if either will factor into our long term plans. I'd also loan these two out, as we can more completely evaluate their level of ability given more games. There's no hurry, as these two are still very young.

I don't really know much about Adorjan, I believe he's off on loan in Eastern Europe? If we get a decent offer, sell him, if not might as well loan him out another year I suppose. If he's in our academy, he must be a highly sought after talent in whatever his home nation is in all likelihood.

Toure should be in the squad next season, he's been as good of a fourth choice CB as there is available at the moment.

Aspas hasn't set the world on fire since his arrival here, but he seems to be willing to do the running and the like, and I would imagine is on low wages. He looked decent in our opener against Stoke, and took his chance well in the cup match, and hasn't had a ton of opportunities otherwise. I see him being a serviceable squad player, but I don't think he's going to be afforded that opportunity. I imagine he'll go back to Spain for around half of what we paid, but I do think he can contribute given the opportunity.

Borini should absolutely be kept on, he legitimately looks like a quality player at Sunderland. His goal tally isn't very good in thusfar, but a lot of that can be attributed to him being shunted off to the wing, instead of as a loan striker, where he's exponentially better. Players like Sturridge and Suarez can be very useful in wide roles because they have fantastic dribbling ability and physical skill, but Borini is basically wasted unless he plays centrally. Playing alongside Suarez/Sturridge, or lone centrally, I believe he can be very good for us next year.

Assaidi has been injured of late, but evidently looked really good for Stoke, scoring a couple of goals as well. There was some story about him coming to our practices to watch whenever he has a chance, he really wants to be part of the team next season. Really pacey and tricky player, but the final product isn't always there, nor is the work rate. I'd love to see him get a chance next season though, definitely feels like he has the quality to make an impact as a substitute, and has the dribbling ability and guile to be very useful for cup matches we have against lesser opposition.

I think we'd be crazy to sell Wisdom this summer. I don't get the hate he gets at all - except that it largely comes from Modo, which I suppose is explanation enough itself. He's perfectly capable on the ball - certainly as good as Flanagan. He's 6'1, so should be ok to play at centre half if that's where he develops. He's strong and outstandingly athletic, has a good attitude and is a natural leader, and has been a top prospect throughout his development. There's absolutely no point in selling him now, his value isn't going anywhere, and whatever he's worth right now wouldn't pay for anything we need. On the other hand, it's not out of the question that he could develop into a top class centre half within 2 or 3 years, if we just show a tiny amount of patience.

I agree with "Semolina Lipton" about Will Hughes - he's never particularly impressed me. I'd be disappointed if we spent big money on him.
