Salah eclipses all of those players in just about every metric that counts , the most important of which for a forward , goals , he also comfortably outperforms Sadio Mane.
Losing either would be difficult to swallow but I'd rather we kept hold of Salah out of the two , no toss up required for me
To be honest, if he wants to move on after this season, we should let him. There is no ready made replacement, but as we are LFC...someone will rise to fill that gap. Given the current market and what will be after covid, i would actually sell for 70M to 80M minimum. We get the money we paid for him plus. Why are we so deaperate to keep him if he is angling for a pay rise ? If he goes he goes, we have been here before and i would hope most of us are so hardened by our collective past experiences that we dont give a fucking shit about those that want to move.
It's interesting that for the first time in thirty years any move is sideways at the very best. We're world champions, recent CL champions, premier league champions and top of the league. On top of that we've got the best manager in the world and probably the most together and positive squad. I think if you want to leave that then you can fuck off. We'll swap you for mbappe and you'll be crying your arse off for the stupid mistake you made for the rest of your life
That said, I would not be looking to sell anyone unless they were truly set on going. Mo is a legend in the making as are many of our other top players.

salah trumps all our goalscorers in goal per game average (ok. i omitted a few. only the one that i am lucky enough to watch playing for us is listed).
more surprisingly, for me, is that firmino scores more than suarez and torres, albeit playing 1 season more than them. not bad for a much maligned non scoring player, compared to 2 strikers, considered as great strikers of LFC.

according to the stats, salah have the most assists, even more than firmino. so, this salah hogs the ball, doesn't pass narrative is probably overplayed by the media and bought by some of us.
i am quite intrigued by the persistence of some of us in selling salah, arguably our best striker to date.

There's no real evidence that our record breaking goal scorer, our vitally important champions league and Premier league winner wants to actually leave.
There are lots of good reasons he should stay made by you guys above and not many reasons he should go.
I think we're apprehensive because of the past. But these are different times. Until there's more substantial evidence to the contrary, I think we should stay positive assume he's staying.

One thing to always remember about the likes of Torres, Suarez and Salah, is that we won fuck all in their best season. Teams win you stuff. In any case as @Woland has pointed out ... why the fuck would you want to move from this team ? I think he wants to be the main man and right now probably feels uneasy about Mane, and Jota, with Bobby not going to play as much. Note the later I suspect if he put on his aggression mode can probably score quite a few himself if he allows himseelf to.
does he. i agree with klopp in that he was asked about barcelona and real madrid and he is not being disrespectful to them. he does not say yes or no. he just does not commit to us like carragher. even gerrard had contemplated of leaving once. if the question is posed to all our players, i believe more than half will give the same answer.

What I meant was that everytime we (LFC) found a great striker and lost him one always came along and did as good for us or better. We lost Rush, we got Aldridge, we replaced Aldridge with Fowler, Fowler with Owen, Torres with Suarez and Suarez with Salah and when we lost Salah we will in time find some one as good if not better
He also said ... in the same interview ... that he wants to break all the records here at Liverpool and become our best ever striker.
I agree with that - when it comes to effort and tiring out defenders - Mane is the man, we are likely to win a game with Mane just up front than just having Salah. I think we have already found the goal-scorer replacement in Jota anyway. The only thing I would worry about Jota is that he is maybe the type that will jump ship to Real Madrid as soon as they take an interest - where as Salah for both family prospects and our achievements as a team has decided to stay on despite probable interest from Spain (in the past few seasons - if there has been activity) - I could say the same for Mane too.
But for purely financial reasons for the club - if an offer comes in this summer that is 70M+ for Salah - I would just sell, and let Klopp bring in a suitable replacement. We have to consider the age of some of the squad now and what is best for the next 3 seasons.
It could only be to play for Real or Barca as a life style choice and to win La Liga after ticking off the big two in England and helping restore Liverpool to the top of the pile.

Seriously , after being fucked in the arsehole by Owen, Torres, Suarez, Coutinho, and a load of others - I just see them as a commodity playing for a financial institution that I support called LFC. There is no loyalty from them, there never has been, I see a guy who will be what 30 next year ? - slowing down in pace, and probably not going to be that effective for us, I would like us to cash in to the highest bidder, and start the re-build process next season. While we have Mane it is still possible and Jota has already shown he is more than capable of filling in Salah's boots, plus Mane can go on the right again.

Salah isn't 30 until mid-2022, not next year, and he's shown no sign whatsoever of slowing down (actually very few of his goals rely on pure pace, most on tricky technical skills and his shooting ability, so I doubt it would be a major factor anyway). And you say Mane can keep on going as one of our mainstays - but you do realise Mane's TWO MONTHS OLDER than Mo right?! And relies more on his pace. Considering their fitness and our medical/coaching teams both have at least 2-3 years left at the top of their game.
£70m for Salah is a joke - even Everton would be in for him at that price. He's worth double that at the moment even though you can start knocking £35m or so off each year from Summer onwards he's still one of the best forwards in the world. Jota has NOT proven he can replace Salah, he's only played 9 games for us!
What we have now is a team in its prime, full of experience and world-class players (Ali, VvD, Robbo, Fabinho, TAA, Thiago, Hendo, Gini, Mo, Mane, Firmino) that can compare to any of the greatest teams ever anywhere in the world, you don't go and rip the heart out of it to start a rebuild next Summer. I, more than likely, won't see another Liverpool team this good in what remains of my lifetime. Let's use it to win as many trophies as possible over the next 3 years just gradually rotating in class players as and when we can (such as Jota).

I think peak Suarez is getting 40 goals a season in this team.
Peak Suarez would have got that in the 13/14 team if not for suspensions.
In this team 45-50. He was that good.

You haven't factored in VAR. He had a knack for chipping the ball into a defenders hand. That's 10-15 penalties there. In theory he could win a penalty any time he wanted to, they'd have to change the rules. Then add in the amount of times he'd feel some contact in the box and win a more traditional penalty, it's possible he'd get 75.
@Frogfish - I am just preparing you mentally for the inevitable exit to Real Madrid or Barca, - it's gonna happen and we will make some money, just think of the money and not the player.
