[article]Perhaps more intriguingly, comes a report from Corriere Dello Sport in Italy which suggests that Mamadou Sakho is a loan target for Serie A side Roma.

That would be some call from Liverpool, even given the Frenchman's recent troubles. But with Roma seeing new signing Mario Rui suffer a cruciate ligament injury on Friday, the Giallarossi are said to be interested in offering Sakho the chance to move to Italy.

Whether Liverpool would sanction such a move – disciplinary issues notwithstanding – is another matter. And don't forget, Sakho is injured himself at present, likely to miss another three weeks or more with an Achilles problem.[/article]

Not a fan of a loan here - either sell, or keep to compete for a starting spot.

There's every reason not to in fact. If he goes we'll need a good replacement, and Roma should be expected to contribute (to say the least) towards the cost.

I guess the problem for us is that is stock is about as low as it gets because of the recent drugs thing and now questions over his professionalism and attitude. Any buying club will point to those risks as a reason to not pay full whack, whereas a loan gives him and us an opportunity to rebuild his reputation. Of course, he could go on loan and continue to be an idiot.

I can't see him handling being 4th choice very well. Is he 5th if Gomez returns?

Fucking cheapskate Italian bastards and their loan deals. I'd rather pay him out of my own pocket then see him go to these cunts.

Sadly, I have a feeling it will happen. From everything I know (and still learning) about Klopp, he is not a fan of talented, but inconsistent defenders with disciplinary problems.

I'd be annoyed if we loaned out any of our senior players, u21 players I can understand.

Flanagan, Wisdom, Alberto, Lucas...Just get them off our books completely.

The agent of Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho has rejected claims of a rift between the Frenchman and boss Jurgen Klopp.
Sakho has been linked with a loan move to Roma after being sent home from the Reds' pre-season tour of the US with the Serie A side in need of defensive reinforcements after Portuguese full-back Mario Rui suffered an ACL injury.
Klopp had played down any suggestions of a major rift between himself and Sakhoafter he decided to send the Frenchman back to Melwood for breaching club rules during the Reds’ ongoing tour of America.
And that view was confirmed by the players’s agent after his player was linked with a loan move to the Italians, who face Liverpool this week in St Louis in their final match of their Stateside trip, report the Liverpool Echo.

Sakho’s agent Niakate Housseyni told LaRoma24: “No, I haven’t had any contact with Roma.
“He didn’t have an argument with his manager, Jurgen Klopp.

“So he’ll stay at Liverpool? Yes, he’s a Liverpool player. I don’t think Roma have that opportunity right now.”
