Sack Race 22/23

Not sure Steven G will be given too many more games to prove himself before the owners take their chance. I reckon pooch is a good shout

Lampard will be gone by Christmas but I don't he's first. Rodgers seems to be on a collision course with the board so he's likely.
And so is Parker. He seemed to be hinting in his post match interview that if they don't get players in then something may happen.

Brodge or Parker.

Rodgers, Gerrard, Lampard or Parker. Who has the most tripper happy board.

Gerrard has 5 wins in 2022 after investing what seems like 500 billion on players.

Looks like Villa fans have given up on Gerrard - most expect him to be sacked shortly. Unfortunately it seems like he is simply not good enough tactically for this level, which got exposed after his assistant and tactical brain Michael Beale left to coach QPR.

I think Gerrard is done and rightfully so, that team should be comfortably midtable at least.

But did he really sign a shitload of players?

- Coutinho (not working out but seemed universally approved)
- Digne (shit, would have been better off sticking with Targett)
- Carlos (out for the season, unlucky)
- Kamara (free and apparently quite good)
- Chambers (free)
- Everton's backup keeper

That's 2 transfer windows. I might have missed someone and can't be arsed to check the figures but I don't think anyone cost stupid money?

No, I dont think so either. Bar Digne their transfers have been pretty good.
My comment was more that is now a Gerrard team. He has bought players in two transfer windows and cant seem to set a tactic or get them to work together.

He seems to keep changing things all the time, particularly his attacking formation and personell - that is a bad sign

Yes it's more of an indictment that their transfer committee has done a commendable job but he still hasn't been able to produce results, or even a team with a recognised play style or strategy.

Arsenal
City
liverpool

He did a good job last year ...
Crazy how quickly they got rid.

Seemed like there was tension around transfers. He might have got fucked off with them as well and thought he should quit if they aren't going to back him. Probably a better decision for his reputation in the long term than having to grind through a season getting battered and looking a bit clueless as a manager.

That seems harsh given that the fixture list was less than kind.

And that they didnt back him much after getting promoted in terms of strengthening the squad.
Fulham and Forest have spent loads but Bournemouth look nearly worse then last season in the Championship.

Some of the coverage on the BBC seem to be hinting at the fact that he perhaps shouldn't have alluded to that after the Liverpool game. Maybe the owners got a bit shitty.

They obviously wanted rid of him for questioning them, but waited to get the three big games with City, Arse and us out the way before the new manager came in

As I said - no surprise as there was clearly tension over the lack of transfers.

I couldn’t tell the difference between that Bournemouth team and the one that got relegated a few seasons ago.

To be fair to the club though 9-0 is embarrassing, you should be able to shut up shop in some manner and not get pounded by a joint record score.
