You know when you like to drag up previous posts to make other posters look like clueless cunts and posture like a know it all preening peacock........

Allen’s a fucking Rolls Royce by the way. You'll forgive the 'I told you so' when he's that cunting good. For 15M we’ve got one of the best midfielders in Britain. Get used to him cos he’s going to be the centre piece of our side for the next 10 years too. How reassuring is that btw? A gem of a midfielder and he’s walked in like he owns the fucking place after 90 minutes of football and 2 weeks of training.

Good times.

I have no qualms with Allen. He's a top footballer and he'll be a great player for us.

He was poor yesterday though, no doubt. Doing this "i told you so" after every game reflects poorly on you as a fan and as a poster.

I don't do the 'I told you so' after every game so you've made that one up to lamely deflect your 'I told you so'.

The only Rolls Royce he's looking like at the moment is one Jeremy Clarkson has ragged through a 1000 miles of Brazilian rainforest.

He was poor yesterday and has been for some time now. He's not cutting it atm.

I'm a big big Allen fan but he has been poor for quiet some time now.

Yep, he's not been great at all.

I'm prepared to be patient with him. I know that's anathema to most internet users, but you'll have to get used to it. In the same way that half United's team yesterday took years to adapt (Carrick, Evra, Cleverley, Wellbeck, Rafael, Young) but were afforded that time by Ferguson.

Years to adapt?
Evra was boss from day 1 as was Carrick.

Evra's " boss from day one" debut game included getting fucking raped away to a duff Man city team (by Trevor fucking Sinclair if I remember right), and being substituted at half-time to spare him any more humiliation. He was very poor for much of his first season. You're wrong. Again.

Carrick took for fucking ever to adapt. United's supporters were long-standing critics. His complete control of yesterday's game was not the norm in the slightest.

Carrick, yes. Evra, no. Ok, he might have had a shit debut, but he was top class with United pretty much from the word go.

As for Allen, I can understand you being patient. I was prepared to give Downing and Henderson time to adjust. And both are showing signs of improvement as of late. So yeah, I'll give Allen a bit more time. He's only 21. There's loads of time. But he's been undeniably completely fucking useless for the last few months. Henderson was shit too in his first season, but at least he didn't give the ball away.

Would that be the season that Utd won the league for the first time in 4 years with Carrick starting over 50 times. Ya he was shite alright.

I didn't say he was "shite". I said it took him time to adapt. Stop misquoting me you fucking moron.

Why don't you pose the question of Evra and Carrick taking time to adapt to United fans, or on a United forum sure?

You're not a typical microwave man, are you Ryan? 😉 I'm going to be patient with the players and club too, but it's tough ... The board is angry and demands a sacrifice!!! BLARRRRRGAHHHHBLAHRRRGHAA

Allen is no doubt a very good player but he hasn't been doing the business in a while. Yesterday was a particularly bad day for him at the office but for many other players as well. Our first half display was one of the worst I've seen in a very long time. We looked overawed and out of our depth.

There's much work to be done and the players need to up the ante if they want an Anfield future. We've played well most of the season but haven't been ruthless enough for a very long time. It reflects in our points tally. Mentally we need to be tougher and need to take our performances up a notch to start consistently putting the 3 points on the board.

Rodgers has also made mistakes with poor team selections. Sturridge and Fabio are giving us options and I would like to see them in tandem with Suarez to see what damage we can do.

There's no fucking way I'm writing off Allen.

He showed real quality when he came in, that doesn't vanish overnight.

He's been poor for a while now, but the players around him have been too, even when playing well the center of the pitch has been a gaping hole we try to circumvent as we don't have the personnel playing in the right positions.

I would have been concerned if it wasn't for his top class performances at the start of the season.

We aren't playing that great at the moment, so it's hard for him, no excuse for his poor form, but he's clearly tired, mentally more than physically, he's only 22 so he needs to be given a break. Really what he needs is a game or twos rest, and to come back into a team that's performing better, hopefully with Sturridge and Borini coming in, that'll happen.

It's nothing to do with adapting. He'd been playing straight up like a useless child. If he was trying things that weren't happening, then sure he may be tired or needs to understand the other players better. But he's just useless and had grown into a liability.

He was trying the difficult passes when he arrived. Then after a few games (and it was only a few, nowhere close to "months") the results were terrible. The pressure builds and Allen got a taste of feeling blame and responsibilty, the mental pressure is what has crushed him and sent him into hiding. He's hesitant and afraid of failure. No top class player ever reacts that way.

I've always said I'd reserve judgement on him because I hadn't seen too much of him last year. I am concerned, though.

Which is the anomaly and which is the norm? His bad form now, or his good form at the start of the year?

He did look better when there were some attacking players on the pitch and Lucas had gone off.
Just saying.
Him and Lucas on the pitch together just plain doesn't work. And, seeing as Allen is by far the better footballer of the two, I'd take him to play.

They certainly don't look like they can play well together although I'm not so sure it's a case of personnel rather than the DM position both seem to be playing. It's doesn't seem to work though, no.

Allen pisses me off more than our other useless midfielders because his short Liverpool career has gone in the other direction.

Lucas and Henderson both arrived shit with the promise of their gradual improvement. Allen arrived ace... That Man City game he was really very good. Did he get a knock to the head or what? He looked so capable and he was very good last season with the same manager. Weird innit.

He's a good footballer. A very good footballer actually.

But he's not playing all that well, I'll admit. We could gnash teeth over every single performance, substitute appearance, cameo or whatever, or we could do what would be the logical thing to do and wait and see how he develops. He's not going anywhere, he won't be sold, he's 22 (that right?) and will be here for years to come.

He's not the first player to arrive for big money and take time to adapt in the history of British football and he won't be the last. Just like you're not the first internet user to get far too worked up far too early.
My personal view is that he's burnt out. He was in a Swansea side last year that lacked real depth, and thus played just about every week. He then went straight into the Olympics team and played every game, moving onto us and has played far far too many games in his first season. He's barely stopped in 2 full years. He needs a break.

I'll say it again - I'm not in the slightest bit worried about him. Quality is permanent, and he'll be a quality footballer for us for years.

And if we're going to do the ole drag back up and point out "I told you so's" I'm happy to show the threads where I pointed out that every single one of Dalglish's signings would be shit, from day one. The only one I said I was happy with was Henderson - another who's taking time to develop, but is absolutely worth persevering with. While the rest of you were creaming yourselves.

So meh.
