Rugby World Cup 2019

Perfect example of putting them under pressure and taking advantage of mistakes.

Good finish by Conway too

Some great touches there - Carty's kick , Farrell's pass ... would have been a great try but the pass was just short of Stockdale

That's demoralising for Scotland.

Ireland down to 14 men. They have a five metre lineout and can't score

Bonus point win. No tries conceded. The only negative was the injuries that were picked up.

England up next on TV, they should put 50 on Tonga

I’m hopeful none of the injuries were serious. The fact is Sexton is just always physically impaired to some degree. Aki will be back and O’Mahoney won’t be kept out for long. Big pluses were the set piece and the excellent play of Murray. Also pleasing to see that all the subs really contributed.

I'm not sure I want Aki back.

Give me Henshaw , Farrell and Ringrose ahead of him.

The Sexton injury is one he seems to have to deal with regularly - Schmidt said afterwards he could have kicked if needed but they decided to give him a break because we were comfortable.

Getting the bonus point gives us a bit of wiggle room going forward - we can give Carty a game or two and use the squad depth to make sure we are as fresh as possible at the end of the group stage.

Yeah, for a change we're in a position in a WC where we can manage our squad looking to the KO games. I know what you mean about Aki though I do think he brings some much needed physicality to our backline. That said, Farrell was excellent when he came on, and is an absolute brute himself.

This has been a really scruffy performance by Ireland against Japan. Too many penalties being given away. I have to say, the ref is missing everything illegal the Japanese are doing.

The ref was appalling.

But Japan were more inventive, more physical and more positive.

We didn't adjust accordingly - and didn't score in the second half.

The ref was crooked. He repeatedly allowed the Japanese to infringe warning them to roll away, or no hands on the floor, or to release the tackled player but just blew straight away for us. We should have had a string of penalties in the second half in really dangerous positions that would have completely changed the game. Yes, the Japanese were excellent, but if that had been fairly refereed, I still feel we would have won.

The Boks won (obviously) against Namibia, but I expect the All Blacks to double what we did.
This Boks team isn't going to do anything I don't think when it matters.

Haha haha we are sooo fucking shit. Struggling to get bonus point try against a pub team.

I thought Italy would be a tough test ... but either they're just have a terrible game, or I am just worried waiting for the Boks to choke ...

I'm not upset about Schmidt not having him available.

I'd be tempted to go with Henshaw and Farrell against the All Blacks.

We didn't concede a point after Aki went off, and it was a good performance all round.

We'll need to step up again against the All Blacks but the pack seem ready, Murray and Sexton are good to go. We still need the All Blacks to be slightly off their best if we're to win but we can fuck shit up in the pack and make life difficult for them.
