Hea always been good , his game has changed so much over the years. I thought he was going to go on to be world class in that first season or so after leaving Everton, never the less he's never been less than good and has had so e exceptional seasons , that period with rvn and ronaldo was pretty special in a disgusting way.

Why can't we discuss other teams and players? It's a pretty fucking RAWKish attitude for us to have.
Anyway, yeah Rooney's a weird one. I think the reaction of his own fans say's it all really in that most of them didn't really want him to break Charlton's record. I guess his flirtations with City/Chelsea expunged any complete admiration between him and the Utd fans.
But you can't score that many goals at that top level for that long, and not be a top fucking player. He's been as consistently good - if not better - than any other English player in the last 10-15 years, and whilst that might not count for a lot internationally - it shouldn't diminish his achievements.
He's been a superb footballer, and these records he's got for England and Utd may never be beaten. Which say's it all.

I've always thought he was massively overrated. I often get shouted down by more learned souls (who are not Mancs) but I think I based it on the fact he played from a very young age for a team that was generally built around him with a manager who pandered to his position puts him in a rather bright light. Still fair play - his record and stats are amazing. I'll never forget accidently watching and then becoming fascinated by the unintended hilarity of his 'Street Football' show on Sky about 10 years ago. Him attempting to kick footballs though truck tyres (and failing everytime) and then trying to teach how to do it was a wonderful bit of serendipitous TV.
