Roma vs Liverpool Match Thread CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMI-FINAL 2nd Leg

If Firmino and Salah were even at 90% of their best, we would have scored 4-5 goals in this game, Roma were desperate and gave us so, so many opportunities to run at them with pace. But because we couldn't finish – and both sets of players could feel that we just didn't have it on the night – this game developed into this strange pattern where we were nominally in control, but couldn't quite settle all game. It was not easy, but then Champions League semi-final should never be. Onwards and upwards, the mighty Reds!

The thing is, this team is a thousand times better than that bunch of fools who won in 2005 and ludicrously keep getting eulogised for fluking a win. These players REALLY deserve it. They are SO much better. I really hope and pray they win it.

This is a better team but it's nowhere near ludicrous for eulogising the 2005 team for winning. It was an incredible win and they rode their luck at times but it was an amazing journey for that team and it was fucking brilliant to watch.

Yeah they were both grossly off the pace. I'm ok with them being reserved now we've won... but fuck me during the game I was terrified

BTW Gini scored away.

That should shut some commentators up with their mindless rambling on that.

Which staff of ours did he celebrate with?

Yeah, the other day it was Salah vs Marcelo. After that performance... sheesh.

Still, I suppose TAA has shown he can come back from a horror show already this season.
To be fair to the lad, I don't think Salah tracked back once in that 2nd half.

We play a lopsided formation which exposes Trent to 2 on 1s at times, if Wini can't get across in time.

It's fine to do that when Salah gives us so much the other way. But today, he was our worst player in my opinion. He looked tired.

But I suspect we and he, will be fresh for the final given the near 2 week break after Brighton.

They were shameful. I want them exorcised.

I do too but I think calling Hyppia, Carragher, Hamman, Gerrard, Riise, Finnan, Smicer etc fools is a bit much.
We had a shit squad but some of that team very much deserved a win.

they didn't they were shite.

We put in some brilliant performances against Deportivo, Leverkusen, Chelsea and Juventus, none of whom were pushovers.
