If your best players can only get you to seventh, you always sell them when silly offers come in.

If you're in contention for the league it changes your approach somewhat.

It alters your perception, it doesn't make it a given. It's a game of XI players, it's not your best players that are solely responsible for your position. There's plenty of determining factors - I know it's alien to your philosophy, but managers and other players also come into the mix aswell.

I tend to side with Rosco on this. Our best players could only get to 7th. We follow them all season and get to like them but we need to be ruthless as a club to progress. I'm not advocating selling them, but all good offers for all players bar the new ones should be considered.

Of cos mate. My post was in reply to Zlate Nikolovski's point that "Suarez played for Ajax who were use to winning nearly every game" whereas dismissing any sort of winning mentality that a player from relegation threatened team could possibly have. According to that theory we should've done much much better.
