Fortunately Allen's been doing well lately, so we don't need to bend over and hand them the KY over the fee. Every player has his price of course, but AFAIC they pay us what we want or he stays.

It's a shame about Allen because he's clearly a bit of a player, but we saw against Southampton his shortcomings when it comes to playing against a physical midfield. He could play an advance role in a lesser team and get away with it, we have too much quality in that position to accommodate him, and he's not nearly domineering enough to figure regularly in central midfield.

But we've also seen the team's performance improve when he's been included/subbed on in other games, and IMO we could do a lot worse than him as a squaddie. I'm not saying keep him at all costs, but I certainly don't think we should be in the business of selling at any cost either.

Yeah, I'd go with that. He's definitely an asset in helping us retain possession later in games and harassing to win back the ball. If we're talking a relatively meager fee then he's worth it for that, but I guess much is down to the player too.

The depressing thing that comes back when you read that article is surely the bit that Rodgers had only been at Swansea for less than two years before FSG hired him to manage a club as big as LFC. Madness.

At least Rodgers can rely on one old bird taking him back when his new one dumps him.

Good luck to him.

Disagree with comment re: Southampton. He dominated the first half and was tiring in second half when Southampton brought on fresh players. Also, we played 2 in the middle that game and he is better in a 3.

Allen did well against a physical City midfield in League Cup.

Unfortunately, he is just hitting his stride, but not match fit. Not a world beater, but a dependable and capable player in any combination of 3-man midfield.

Let's hope he spends £15mill on Allen right away, we should also try sell him the Slovakian Pique and the Belgium De Gea.

Fuck off Jono. Never cease to try to get dig in, "back at his level", "this is a proper manager lads". Pathetic cunt.

Pissed you off so much you said it twice

I just saying exactly how it's is..

Go and throw abuse to others on here that say the same...

Rodgers is back at a level where he can feel at one with the Allen's and Sigurssons of this world.. I wish him the best of luck.. With his focus on youth, He will make a great England Manager for the future..

Klopp on the other hand.. Is the real deal, the first decent manager with a proven pedigree we have had at this club since Rafa left..

I can imagine Allen will be in search of first team football on a regular basis next Season, I don't think he will get that here..

Like it's been said, he had a great few cameo appearances recently, but his overall game is limited

I expect both Lucas and Allen will be shipped out in the Summer, providing adequate replacements are brought it first..

WUM

Kenny was brought in when the club was in turmoil..

He made the club feel Liverpool again, and won us a Trophy... legend... He was never going to be ideal in the long term, not in the modern game..

Uuum Kenny wanted to stay on ... so whether or not he'd have been ideal, he had similar credentials to Raf, minus a European trophy.

Just admit you made a mistake, and move on. It's ok - we all make 'em.

I didnt make a mistake. He was never a long term Soloution in my eyes, not the way the modern game had changed since he was last in charge..

His second stint brought unity back to the club... Right person at the right time, but not an Elite manager, he was in his day, but that was over 20 years ago..

Yes, in your eyes ... Have a good night.
