That made me cry again, lovely piece. A truly inspirational woman. I'd like to think I would do the same for my children but after that many setbacks & that much time I don't know if I would. Incredible.
I always feel myself welling up when the stories of "that morning" are relayed. Even little things like saying not to worry about making him his tea, that he'd have beans and toast when he got home.
You know I've often wondered how the families had the mental strength to fight on all these years. They were beaten back by the system continually and must have been devastated by blow after blow landed upon them. I take my hat off to them and people like Anne Williams to carry on for decades against barrier after barrier must take mental fortitude we've couldn't even fathom.
The families achieved the most important victory the club has ever had and for that they deserved to be immortalised into the clubs history. It's not just the strength they've shown, what's most impressive the amount of dignity they've shown when forced into the most testing and emotional situation imaginable.
Words can't express how much respect they deserve.
