Any news how bad his injury is? I thought he looked very promising considering he´s been out for a while. Gutted for him!

Really? I thought he made the wrong decision just about every time he got the ball. As for his injury, he's having a scan this morning but Rafa said he feared it was a tear.

Whether it was a case of trying too hard or not last night I don't know but, as macca says, Riera made bad decision after bad decision. Felt for him a bit about his injury though. The injury situation just seems to be getting worse

You could certainly see that he has hardly played this season, he chose the wrong option nearly every time. He is probably the best option we have on the left, shame he will be out for a couple of months now.

I thought he was shit last night. Gave the ball away too many times when not under pressure, every time when under pressure. Plus made the wrong decision too many times (shooting when he could have played in Insua). Don't even think he meant to pick out N''Gog for the goal but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Still though, hopefully he's not out too long. Same for Yossi.

He made some poor decisions but I think people took heart from the fact that he constantly looked to make something happen in attack.

I love what he brings to the team and think the effect of his absence is underestimated.

He did a lot wrong but at the same we looked far more potent in attack with a player out wide actually capable of turning a man.

With the likes of Masher, Lucas and Kuyt fielded at the same time we are extremely easy to close down in attack. Even more so without Johnson at RB.

I think we relly could need a fit Riera. We need players who are not affraid of taking defenders on.

Is this a fact?

That's awful news.

Meh. Slow, fancy dan shithouse.

I want us to sell him and have ever since the game at Stamford Bridge where he shit out of about five 50/50 challenges.

I didn't see the game but was listening while doing a bit of painting. The impression the commentators were gave was that Riera was giving the team balance and set up the first goal, they did mention he made a few wrong decisions. After the game finished I felt from what I heard that he had a good game until I came on here.

Where the commentators talking shite, it was five live by the way and yeah Lawro was one of them.

Sounds pretty much spot on to me.

It is if it is a tear KHL.
Rafa thinks that it is, you could see from the players reaction that it was pretty bad.

Why would we sell our only LW, as opposed to buying a better one, and then, if we have an injury crisis, we'll actually have competent back up, as opposed to playing someone else there out of position.

Because i hate people who lack fight and bottle. I don't think his heads in the right place and his heart definetly isn't!
He doesn't score or create anywhere near enough for a Liverpool left winger and im fed up of mediocrity to be honest.
Im hating this season and some of our players are really starting to annoy me.
I do appreciate what you are saying but im fed just fed up of seeing names like Riera on the teamsheet and hoping he has one of his one in five good games for us.
How did you feel when you saw a front 4 of Riera, Kuyt, N'Gog and Benayoun last night? Thats Uefa Cup/mid table quality right there.

How come we have so many hamstring and groin injuries? Somebody needs to get sacked for this surely?

Is this because of the loss of Paco?

At his best he's not mediocre. He's not brilliant but on form he does a very good job for us. He's forced his way into contention for the European Champions, for goodness sake. It's a sad state of affairs when we're dismissing our own players like this.

Indeed. I reckon at his best he is actually brilliant.

How the fuck did Riera do his hamstring anyway?

He runs about 1mph.

[/quote]

ha ha, he strained them as he was attempting to run through tar.

I felt a little for him when he did. It started off with a bit of a "drat that hurt" and was soon replaced with a "oh fuck I've proper nobbled it"
