we have zero transfer money this year and next year because we lost £40m and they have to repay £60m to the banks so everything is going towards that hence Rafa is going to be pissed off and will only get money from sales, eventually the situation might get worse like portsmouth and he wont even get that though he'll resign by then.

we need new owners hopefully by next year..

nonsense

i expect to see aguero here next summer.

hahaa then you're in for shock, unless we get taken over by some Sheikh

babel and voronin will have great seasons and we'll sell them for 15 million combined, doseena will go for 4 or 5. including kids we'll sell 20 millions worth and spend our 20 million champions league winners money on aguero.

we have money, if anything i think its an issue of cashflow. it'll be interesting to find out what happens to the transfer kitty from keane upto now.

the transfer kitty from Keane was another loan, they've just used it to pay it back and took the loss. it doesn't exist and the likely scenario is there's nothing for transfers because the cunts have to pay 60 million to the banks by next year so don't expect anything

the 20 million CL money will be going to pay off the banks not on players

I think you're being a bit dramatic Rebel.

We're one of the current and past most successful teams in Europe. Players want to come here, maybe not the Kaka's of the World but who gives a fuck. The players that want to play for us, the Johnsons and the Torres', are the best breed.

We'll make money from different avenues, TV, Cup competition, marketing, ticket sales. You make it sound like the £20m from the Champions League is our only source of income.

There may be a tightening of the purse strings while we pay back money on the loans, but I think you're being a bit sensationalist about it all, and I doubt Rafa would have laid such solid foundations this Summer by overhauling the club from the Academy to who controls the transfers, if he wasn't confident he'd be getting at least an adequate backing from the clubs owners.

I'm being realistic. we lost £40m last year, they have to pay back £60m to the banks. where do you think that money is coming from? it comes out the club. the TV money, the CL money, everything over the next 2 years will be going to the banks with little left for transfers. that is the reality of the situation, if you dont choose to believe it then fine but unless they sell assets that is what will happen.

he might have been confident of the backing at the time but things change like the financing and the terms of it, the yanks might have told Rafa a pack of lies to get him to sign the contract or maybe they weren't expecting the banks demanding £60m back. things change.

That's fair enough comment, as I said 'there might be a tightening of the purse strings'.

Your initial posts suggested we'd be spending next to fuck all with money coming only from sales, which I'd wager is bullshit. Rafa's not stupid, if G&H don't dig deep then he'll make it common knowledge and put the pressure on via the press, as he always does.

He's brought in his own people this Summer and gotten rid of Parry to give him self even greater power and influence over the club, and to pile further pressure on the owners, with the backing of his newly appointed staff and people like Dalglish.

One of our greatest weapons against being dragged down is our steep history and how well ran we are internally, particularly now that Rafa is controlling transfers and internal appointments.

Don't underestimate the amount of influence Rafa now has and how well he can force the American's into a corner.

Perhaps this Summer and in January we may have to compromise ourselves a touch and spread the squad thinly, but this isn't really an issue that's going to be allowed to be dragged on for years to come. There's too much work going on behind the scenes, while we're at such a good stage of our development, for the right people to allow that to happen.

it doesn't matter what pressure is put on the yanks if the money isnt there, Rafa either accepts it or resigns, it's the same situation that Wenger's had over the last few years BUT in return they have a 60,000 seater stadium, we have fuck all to show for it.

There is nothing left for transfers unless the yanks can find a way of bringing money in and they're unlikely to, they have to pay the banks £60m and that is their main priority over the next 12 months. they will rape all sources of revenue to do this and safeguard their investment. they will try and do it without selling Torres or Gerrard and causing more shit. In my view, they will sell the club by next year and a new owner will provide funds but it's never guaranteed

Can people stop including money from selling Keane in their calculations. We made NOTHING selling Keane. We simply didnt have to pay the 18m we still owed for him. If anything we lost 12m.
20m kitty
36m from sales.

Of which.
8m has gone on Johnson
16m on Aquilani. (although it depends how its viewed, it may be seen as 5m in this season as the other instalments are due in other windows)

That leaves 32m. (+11m if we have only paid 5m for Aquilani) However with the yanks having to pay 60m more off the debt its safe to say they arent giving rafa 43m to spend regardless of prior agreements. But that doesnt mean he wont get 20m for silva or something/somewhere in that ballpark.
If he does he does, and if he doesnt then fuck it. Team, management, fans all have to get behind the players and unite for this tilt. We've a terrific squad and good cover everywhere. Just look at our first 11.
Reina - 20m
Carragher - 15m
Agger - 15m
Johnson - 17m
Mascherano - 25m
Aquilani - 20m
Kuyt - 20m
Riera - 10m
Gerrard - 50m
Torres - 50m
we've got Yossi, Babel, skrtel, Lucas, Dossena, Insua, Cavalieri, Aurelio....christ we've got the options.
Stop fretting about-
IF we have money.
WHO we will get
IF there will be injuries.
If Rafa has the money he will get the players in, if he doesnt, we wont, and we will still be there or there abouts.

To be fair thats deifintely post of the week, NO SARCASM, and i agree totally with everything you write there Oncy but my snide childish nature would insist on finishing with a dig at the yanks who are cunts.

But your post is definitely better and you are right we should all get excited and get behind our team cos they are fucking magic.

The situation is unlike Wenger's because while Wenger seems content to sit back while the club slides for a few years, Rafa clearly isn't that laid back and longtermist about it all. We're in a strong position and he'll want to capitalise on it now, which is probably why there are stories in the press today about him seeking further funds from the owners. It's a tactic that's worked over various issues for him.

There's no fucking way he'll let us get screwed over next couple of years to pay back these loans, like I said, for this Summer perhaps but beyond? Unless there's some longterm plan to sort this issue out, or the American's invest some more of their own money into paying the loans (haven't they already contributed £20m?), I suggest that we'll know about it sooner or later, via Rafa and the press.

come on now mark, £60m is over $100m that's a lot of money for the yanks who are leveraged, especially Hicks who is reportedly defaulting on loans. where are they going to find it? it's going to come out of the club over the next 12 months. They could always sell Torres but that would cause uproar, they will prefer to just put the brakes on spending and hope Rafa swallows it because he's in charge of the project

that's if they want the club, I think they'll want out by next year and let someone else pick up the tab. time to find a richer fool.

I don't think they'll want out at all. It's precisely because their top three priorities are money, money and money that they'll want to stick around, because they know what massive goodwill and earning potential this club has.
