Kick-off at 1PM today, I'll try to catch a bit of it if not all.

Hopefully we'll see an attacking-minded team that's not affraid of closing down opponents and take the game to their half.

We will, because John McMahon has a brain, and uses tactics to suit, not failed tactics that have been used for 34 years in Europe that have doner fuck all

Pacheco should be in the squad.

Hopefully he'll soon be ready to make the grade. We really could use a splendid youngster amongst the not so splendid seniors these days. Live things up a bit.

Its a strong Reds line-up today: Jones, Flanagan, Aurelio, Shelvey, Mendy, Irwin, Pacheco, Suso, Eccleston, Amoo, Bruna. (MW)

That is strong.

I don't why but I've still got strangely high hopes for Irwin.

LOL! Ehmm didn't Aurelio reject a pay-as-you-play deal offered when Rafa was still around? I think the contract he signed when he returned under Hodgson was a normal wkly one

Superb through-ball from Shelvey. Eccleston squanders the chance.

Bruna looks very lively and Sosu has started well. Amoo's got pace and looks a footballer.

Blackpool has fielded a strong team with a handful of firstteamers out mind. Good competition.

Excellent chipped Kuyt-like pass from Irwin or Aurelio into the path of Eccleston who sees his shot saved on the line. Moments before Amoo raced through but the keeper tipped his shot wide.

Goal's coming.

Fabulously crafted goal.

Pachecho moves the ball around well finds Shelvey in central who launches another great pass to Bruna on the left who then finds Eccleston with a fine weighted pass.

This time he makes no mistake and brings Liverpool ahead with a neat finish.

Shelvey in great performance in central midfield role shocker. Roy, take note. HE ISN*T A RIGHT WINGER!!!!!

Indeed. Roy should never play him on the wings again. Different player all around in central.

And Pacheco is miles better outthere anyways.

It's really nice watching a Liverpool-team play some decent football.

Amazing we're only 1-nil up.

Suso and Bruna with some delicious skills. Goal ruled out for offside.

I knew what he meant straight off.

Three players ready for more first-team action:

Shelvey played in central has hit some great passes and though he's got a tendency to try the Hollywood-pass he's got amazing awareness and reads the game very well.

Amoo would actually be an upgrade on Babel already. I like Babel but it's obvious he's never going to make it in Liverpool but this young lad just seems different in terms of attitude and grit whilst he's also got a nice set of skill on show. Very pacy and I wouldn't mind him be given a few chances here and there.

The one player however I believe should be starting already come the West Ham game - especially if Cole is still ruled out - is Pacheco. Reads the game well, has good movement, quick feets and a great range of passing and then proabably the most important part: His physique seems better than ever and he even wins his share of tackles. He'd make us enjoy more possession and at the same time make sure Raul and Shelvey for that matter can be played in central. It's a no-brainer really.

Mendy (brave and strong defender), Eccleston (albeit too selfish and not quite clinical enough in front of goal shows signs of a striker), Aurelio, Bruna, Suso and Irwin has all had a decent 45 too.

This team is playing some nice football actually and is by far the best I've seen from the Reserves for some time.

Amoo and Shelvey both looked very good. Bruna seems to have grown a bit and put on some weight. There might be a player there after all.

Suso is excellent.

Pacheco inches wide of scoring goal of the Season there.

Unconvincing start from Spearing (on instead of Shelvey).

Spearing intercepts and puts Amoo through on goal. Drills his shot inches wide though.
