What's expectations got to do with anything? You've all banged on all day about our brilliant first teamers being left out and how defeatist we're being, at least we're still in the game, it's more than can be said about that embarrassment two weeks ago.
Why do you always have to start with this shit?
Real Madrid are an excellent side and I pretty much expected us to lose this game as soon as the draw was made but it's the manner in which we are losing it that hurts. I'm not blaming the players, it's the situation we find ourselves in. Real started the game in 2nd or 3rd gear and have not really had to step out of it in order to pretty much dominate us.
It is embarrassing. Listening the commentators tonight and what other fans have had to say, as a Liverpool fan, has been hard to take. I don't mind getting beat away to the champions of Europe but when everyone is going on about how we're lucky it's not some fucking cricket score, that's something else.
And frankly, I've seen a lot more of Real Madrid than you have and am therefore much better placed to judge a performance against them, so you can fuck off thank you very much.
I'm at work so not watching or following SCM. Is this gonna end well?
Differing opinions doesn't really wash mate, people are on a crusade themselves about Rodgers' lineup, the fact is we're 1-0 down, what score was it at half time with our "best XI"?

Markovic is babel without the entertainment
No, our goal is to keep the game tight and nick a goal, it was good enough away in these games for our fans when Rafa and Houllier were in charge, it's 1-0, what's your point?
A few things out of this first half - one main thing.
Ming's shot stopping has been great.
Think Skrtel has been good.
Toure, too, has been very good and one run down the sideline in particular was great to see.
Manquillo is close to letting in a record number of crosses and was nowhere for the goal while Moreno is better going forward than the other way but is doing reasonably over all.
Lucas has been good - certainly in first 25 minutes.
Can has been moving far better than I've seen but he looked like he was shattered after 25 minutes. His cross, after doing well in tight in the Madrid area, was so over-hit it looked like a clearance.
Going forward is the main thing. There have been three real opportunities to get in behind and at goal; Lallana got himself all alone in the area - Allen (maybe Moreno) looked at him and passed it back. Markovic did the same and we turned and passed it back. Then Borini made a run right through the centre for everyone to see and we stood on the ball before passing it sideways.
That was more galling each time and looked so obvious I couldn't help feel it was a game plan which, I hope to hell, I never see again.
Our approach and set-up has been pretty humiliating but the actual performance, within that set-up, has been not bad defensively IMO. It's our attitude going forward that has been disturbing.

Im not on a crusade against Rodgers Mark. And I still think we look hopeless and devoid of threat or idea.
Doesnt matter if it washes or not. When everyone agrees with you you sit quietly and talk about formations or history or whatever, as soon as opinion is against whatever positive spiel you are shovelling you lose your shit and talk about agendas and the whole forum posting shit.

I don't get this. Here's my expectation for the second half...based on the first half we're in with a shout of getting a result none of us would have predicted before the game. Now it might go tits up and we lose by 4 but on the evidence of the first half we're by no means out of this.
As opposed to telling everyone how brilliant Markovic was going to be three months ago, and now being his number one critic, yeah ok.

I'd like to see Brendan get one or two attackers on the pitch.
Invidually, I think Mignolet has done well. Great saves but his distribution is fucking horrendous. Keeps gifting the ball to Madrid.
Lucas has done well, except for that God awful foul that could have ended the entire season. Plays it simple and is doing his job in front of the defence.
Loving Can's marauding runs. Could do better with some of his passing.
Touré is doing well, but the goal was on him.
Lallana is OK, but the he's lacking options attack.
Moreno is also doing OK.
The rest have been meh.

I'm not as harsh on Markovic as Oncy but he has pissed me off. Looked better the latter part of the half but, prior to then, he was rubbish. Fair enough getting beaten for pace by Verante who's probably as quick a CB as there is in the world. Didn't see him get done by Ramos - that was just a tussle and Ramos got it over the line.
What pissed me off was he'd start to run, lose the ball and stand there while the guy who took it from him carried it up field. Chase you lazy prick. If he's got the energy to chase you, take the ball and then run up field then you should have just as much. Need to see more heart.
