Nobody, absolutely nobody wants Real and that cockrag Mourinho to win, do they?
[/quote]

I do. I think real are better suited to beat manu than barca and ronaldo will be well up for the game.

Not that bothered either way to be honest Ryan, just looking forward to an intriguing clash of styles.

I reckon Barca will reassert their dominance tonight.

Barca, are missing too many influential players tonight. Real will win, the media will ignore the Barca injuries and proclaim Jose as a footballing god.

On the other hand I can't stand Barca and all the fanboys and on the other hand I admire them and realise they are one of the best teams ever to play this game and that I should be grateful while I'm still able to watch them.

Most important factor is, however, that I think Barca have far better chances of beating Mancs in the final so I'm desperate for them to go through.

I follow Barca so of course would love for them to get through, however I've had a nasty feeling since the draw that Real get past them and nothing I've seen in the previous two games have done anything to dispel those fears.

And Ross is right re: Mourinho and the media. *vomits*

Mourinho is dragging football management into dark places. He's worse than Ferguson.
Guardiola lost his temper yesterday and that's a pity, because it looks like Mourinho is getting what he wanted.

If Iniesta indeed misses today's game it's more bad news for Barcelona, and I can see them struggling against a very aggressive Real side, whose players do not hesitate committing dirty fouls.

I want Barcelona to win this tie, despite the way they got Mascherano and the way they're tapping Fabregas.

Bang on.

is 'bernabeu' the single most mispronounced word in football? even journalists and commentators who've been to the place on multiple occasions insist on calling it the 'berna-bow'. why? WHY would it be pronounced like that???

and why do i care? don't answer that, btw. i don't want to know.

No.

Nothing comes even close to 'Kuyt'.

The "Kite/Koyt" thing gets on my tits.

As did David Pleat, with Yossi Benanoon.

How do you pronounce it? I think "Kite" is quite close to how the Dutch pronounce it, no?

Berna beh-oo.

"Kuyt" isn't a simple one. The letter "y" in Dutch (and some other European languages) represents a sound we just don't have in English. Purse your lips as if you were going to say "oo", then try and say the letter "e" through them, and you'll get it. "Kowt" is an OK approximation but, contrary to what many people seem to think, "Kite" is just as close.

Hyypia

"Hoopia"

"Hurpia"

"Hypia"

"Hippiah"

David Pleat's a fucking mong.

You pronounce Kuyt as "Kooyt". He was interviewed once, but said he's not arsed how people pronounce it.

*Edit* What the Judge said, too.

And he said it's pronounced "Dirick" not "Dirk" too.

Berna bay you.

Kowt.

More like Berna bay ooh

I met an Finnish woman once and she said it was pronounced "Oopia"

She was quite lively and had a crush on Sami and kept saying "OOOOPIA !".

She was sweet.

She was probably on drugs or you can't spell how she actually pronounced it, haha.

A Dutch woman I *ahem* "knew" told me how to say "Cruyff".

It certainly isn't "Croyff".

Yeah it's wrong. More like "Hoopiae.

Agree with the latter part. 🙂

Hyypia = üppiä or üppee/eh

As Jules said the sound ü doesnt exist in english...
And the 'y' in Kuyt is almost the same as the 'lli' in Houllier in french
