RB - a priority in January?

I don't think we need to buy a RB. Glen is excellent and as others has said Wisdom can cover and McLaughlin is an emerging talent. I also rate Martin Kelly and he will return one day.

I'd consider a LB in the summer. Surely there is some German we should be after? Alaba of Munich or someone like that.

Even when we do recognise young talent there's a strange neuroticism that creeps into consciousness and makes us feel insecure unless we also bring in one or two experienced stop gaps. Look back over the last 20 or so years - look at all those non-entities we wasted time and money on while decent young talent either atrophied or became alienated. How many Josemis, Dossenas, Degens, Kromkamps and Xaviers do we need to get before we realise how many promising young players they've blocked and broken? Isn't this supposed to be some brave new age? If so, act like you believe in it.

Ha ha! Actually, I'm afraid the one area of the youth system that hasn't delivered recently is the goalkeeping one. Belford for me looks to have regressed and started to look shakier than before, and Gulacsi, not really a product of the system but still only 22, looks like he won't ever challenge for the first team, even though he's been out on loan. So we do need to clear out some of the 1000 keepers we seem to have on the books and go for a quality young player. But, yes, obviously that's irrelevant in the short term. We need strikers!

Spot on. We have some good youngsters coming through. Yeah they will make mistakes from time to time but it's a learning process.

I guess I'm in the minority that actually likes Johnson as our full back. And since when was Kelly considered to be ahead of him? He was only shifted to left back because of the loss of form of Enrique. Johnson imo is our first choice right back and rightly so.

Not saying we have amazing full backs or anything but I don't think many people would look at our team and say 'what this team really needs is a new right back'. We need players who can score goals. That is the obvious priority.

We need a striker and we need to start playing Assaidi and Shelvey more. Boom - Problem solved!

Goalkeeper has always been our no. 1 priority.

It's time we get ourselves another goalie.

If I could be arse, I'd go to that Meme-maker thing, get the image of the Joker from 'The Dark Knight' that is already in use as "Not Sure If Serious" and put "Not Sure If Whoosing".

If you're in the minority its a sad reflection on our fans.

Johnson is - and has been for some time - excellent. Those clamouring to replace him would have less logic than those who were pleased with Josemi coming in to replace Finnan. Daft!

It really was excellent from Johnson today.
He wouldn't look out of place in one of those excellent Brazil teams of the past.
He's a fucking beast on form.

Re Swansea, Taylor is a pretty good left back. Will probably move on to a bigger club after this season. Rangel is just decent though.
