Reina 7 - No chance on the goal. A couple of good saves, assured performance

Glenjo 6 - Terrible passing at times, better crossing. Won us the game by winning the penalty, that Gerrard scored.
Decent performance from player coming back from injury.

Carragher 6 - Nothing out of the ordinary did a good job as usual.
Kyrgiakos 6 - More or less the same as Carra.

Konchesky 6 - Defensively good, but not as good going forward.

Poulsen 4 - Terrible. At fault for the Napoli goal. Not good enough. Terrible defending, no pace, horrid passing.
Probably one of our most experienced players on the pitch but played like a reserve player.

Spearing 6 - Decent performance.

Meireles 6 - I expect more from him. Can't blame him, considering that he was playing with a couple of
reserves and Poulsen.

Shelvey 7 - Doesn't deserve a 7 to be honest but considering that he's only 18 years old and playing with so
much maturity and confidence it's hard to not be impressed with him.

Jovanovic 6 - Probably our biggest attacking threat in the first half but no end product as usual.

Ngog 6 - To many missed chances. To be fair he's good at finding space for himself in the box and
getting into dangerous areas but his finishing needs fine tuning.

Subs:

Gerrard 10 - Captain fantastic. Won us the game. Great performance. Good thing that the kids playing could
witness first hand what is expected from them.

Ecclestone 6 - Loved the way he skinned three players just after he got on.

Lucas 7 - Is getting better and better. Nice assist to help Gerrard get his hat trick.

Doesn't he get points taken off for that?

Is that cunt Christian Crapsen one of the worst footballers to ever play for Liverpool?

He makes Lucarse look almost able-bodied.

Fucking cunt

Do you think lucas might be in danger of losing the title of "biggest shitcunt" bren?

Poulson may well end up turning Brendan into a Lucas fan. He's working that dark magic on me.

You have to feel sorry for Brendan.
That is two seasons in a row that we have brought in a centre mid whose only objective was to be better than Lucas......

He seemed to be a little off the pace, late tackles and misplaced passes.

Don't beat around the bush.... He was Shit.

He still showed more promise than Poulsen though, at ease.

Ah right i thought that's who you were talking about.... Sorry

To be honest from where i was sat and what I saw I thought he played very well, but that was inbetween sorting out some Ultras and watching the game.

My brother text me sayig it was getting a little heated. It was difficult to see from the TV but he reckoned there were a group of at least 10 above him.

Trouble round the park and anny road. There are some rumours that a Napoli fan may have been killed, but just rumours and hope that's all it is. We will be slaughtered if it isn't

In the Anfield Road end of the Main Stand, more than half of the supporters around us were Napoli fans. They were perfectly pleasant and well-behaved, but they made the mistake of looking pleased when Napoli scored, whereupon the Liverpool fans kicked off and swore at them. A couple of females in front of me got up and left.

At half-time I saw a few Napoli fans being ejected from the stadium basically for being Italian and not understanding that the Stewards wanted the Italians to go to one toilet and the Liverpool fans to another one. At the end of the game, the Napoli fans shook hands with us as they left. I felt sorry for them - I don't suppose they knew they weren't supposed to be in the seats that they were.

I understand that tickets were on sale at the ticket office and hundreds of Napoli fans just went up and bought them. In view of the regulations about crowd segregation, it is just typical of the incompetence of the ticket office that they sold the tickets to dark-skinned chaps with blue scarves and tight jeans. It's not rocket science.

Gerrard 10
Lucas 8 for his positive play when he came on, great challenge.
Shelvey 7 again for throwing himself around
N'Gog 7 held the ball up really well and was always looking around for players, shame the blerts weren't on the same wavelenghth.

I didn't watch the game.

Can somebody tell me is Shelvey capable of developing in to a proper CM? He seems to distribute the ball well and keep possession well. What i'm unsure on is his ability to win the ball back, when we don't have it. If he showed that then i think he should be partnered alongside Meireles and rotated with Lucas in the premiership as soon as possible.

Also, how soon can we sell Poulsen? Is there a transfer ban etc for him?

Shelvey certainly looks like someone for the "near" future.
He still a bit raw, but with more experience I think he'll grow.
What I like about him is that he's not afraid. He plays with confidence and maturity though he still only 18 years old.
He hasn't got any pace and his defending is a bit suspect but hopefully he'll get better.

In my defence, I watched the second half in a pub in Soho, with a group of scousers. Unfortunately, they were quite keen to throw one of my clients through a window, because he was totally banjaxed. So I had my hands full, and was a bit frazzled.
