I guess with two of the tougher away games out of the way, we're in a pretty good position to top the group - that is if we stop playing like cunts at Anfield.
It's hard to know whether to judge players by Liverpool (real Liverpool) standards these days or by their own. All in all it was a very average performance that doesn't merit any real praise, but in the context of our current situation it was a nice surprise to not see us capitulate in humiliating fashion.
Reina - 7 - Coped with everything well and looked assured.
Konchesky - 5 - At one point I was getting quite frustrated by his constant hoofing, that is till he tried to turn the attacker and lost the ball. After that I was quite happy for him to continue hoofing.
Skrtel - 7 - The odd rash moment, but overall he defended well. MOM.
Carragher - 6 - Fine.
Kelly - 5 - Maybe I'm being too harsh on both fullbacks, but there was a little too much coming in from the flanks and Kelly struggled to find himself at times. Too much hoofing from him as well.
Poulsen - 6 - Few good tackles and distribution was decent.
Spearing - 6 - Another confident display in the heart of the midfield and showing what he did for the reserves - that he likes to get involved in play and can pass well.
Shelvey - 6 - Showed nice signs of class in the first half even if he wasn't involved as much as perhaps we'd have liked him to be. Unfortunately struggled to get into the game in the second half. A bit languid in style, but pretty assured on the ball.
Jovanovic - 5 - Hmmm. Very much a Jekyll and Hyde player.. more Hyde today.
Babel - 4 - Lazy, shit performance. Humour aside, it's depressing that after the initial promise and hope we all thought he possessed, we've had to resort to turning him into a comedy cult figure.
N'Gog - 5 - Improved in the second half and one moment of magic in the box, but overall not great. But then he's a player that prefers to the ball to feet or played into space to run onto. There is no point punting long balls towards him.
Zorba - 6 - Did fine.
