Reina - 7 - I don't think he did anything wrong.

GlenJo - 7 - a solid game defensively

Carra - 7 - He played well but he was bloody lucky to be on the pitch after that foul on Nani.

Skrtel - 6.5 - ok

Aurelio - n/a - injured ... again. pity.

Lucas - 7 - he had some really nice passes today. a solid effort

Gerrard - 7 - someone said earlier this week that his legs will no longer allow him to play CM, and sadly, that person may be right. he played a very good, disciplined game and I liked his presence after the Nani foul. Should have scored on one of those two scorchers.

Maxi - 6.5 - he made some really good runs today, and I think played well. I think he's a good player to have on the bench.

Meirless - 7.5 - he's everywhere, and creates chances non-stop with his intelligent runs. Great signing.

Suarez - 8.5 - MOTM - This guy is class.

Kuyt - 8.5 - take a bow son.

Subs:

The Greek - 7 - solid performance.

Carroll - n/a - nice run out ... It's rather easy to see what he'll bring on the pitch. Look forward to seeing his partnership with Suarez.

Cole - n/a

Gerrard in no way deserves the same as lucas
he was shite

Well, I'd have to pick on his kicking clearances. It isn't just this game, but against West Ham as well. They've been pretty poor lately with little distance, trajectory and accuracy. I'd understand if they were errors made under lots of pressure, but he wasn't really being closed down today and he kicked them right back to their midfielders in our half a few times if I remember correctly.

Reina - 6
Carra - 7
Skrtel - 7
Johnson -7
Greek - 7
Lucas - 7
Gerrard - 6
Maxi - 7
Meireles - 8
Kuyt - 10
Suarez - 9

Reina - 7 - Steady, calm and collected some crosses very well and competently. Got involved in the Nani fracas and dragged away his backline

Carra - 6.5 - Rooney didn't get a sniff all game, flagged a bit towards the end buts that to be expected.
Skrtel -7 - Massive improvements on recent weeks
The greek - 6.5 - Got rinsed once early on but after that settled well.
Glenjo - 6.5 - Got involved in some good moves going forward but Giggs and co got the better of him on a few too many occasions.
Lucas - 6 - faded in and out of the game but hounded the ball down impressively for the first 45 minutes.
Gerrard - 6.5 - Never really got into gear, nor did he need to, a few decent efforts and gave the back line plenty of cover.
Maxi - 6.5 - involved in some good moves but went missing a bit too often for my liking.
Meireles - 7.5 - got involved in some great moves, gave the utd back 6 no time what so ever on the ball, linked up well with suarez.
Kuyt - 10 Scored 3, pressured the utd defence very well, typical workaholic performance but a hat-trick to boot
Suarez - 9.5 - Terrorized the utd back line for 90 minutes, relentless, made two goals and showed some fantastic technical ability.

Carroll - 6 - a few touches and a couple of decent knockdowns.
Cole - N/A - did he touch the ball?

I know you're not Kuyt's biggest fan. But to not make him MOM after a hattrick against Utd is hilarious.

If you go over to the MotM thread I think you'll find more people didn't make Kuyt MoM than did. He got 3 goals - which was brilliant, a great effort to be in the right place at the right time, but Suarez was not only involved in all three goals, with utter brilliance, but demonstrated that same skill all over the pitch. No Suarez = no goals for Kuyt (not trying to belittle his contribution here).

The all-round performance from Suarez is more worthy of a MOTM award than the vital but easy tap-ins from Deadly, yes.

You're mental, JJ.

It doesnt matter how it goes in or when from, just that it goes in.

DIRK SCORED A HAT-TRICK

In a match where the winning side scored 3, I find it crazy that the player who scored all three, doesn't get MOTM.

Oh and if were adding Suarez' undoubted technical ability that was on display for 90 minutes then we have to throw Kuyts work rate in there too, which is an equally valuable asset in a match against Utd.

Suarez was amazing.

Kuyt was MOTM.

And I find it crazy that otherwise sensible posters like you can be so shallow and tabloid-like when it comes to this.

Fair play mate. Kuyt also set up a couple of good chances too with some great passes.

kuyt wasted a chance carroll made for him

so for that i hate him now

even if it was a tricky volley from range

Otherwise sensible,pah.

I really think you're being a bit silly here though, JJ.

Kuyt scored a hat-trick.

Not 1, not 2 but 3!

ALL 3 of our goals!

Now, someone said earlier that if we take suarez out, kuyt scores none? His second? could still have very well happened, it was hardly a mega ball in, the freekick ditto, a great strike but gerrard could've done the same.

His first, yeah I'll give you that.

So we take Kuyt out we score none as lets face it, Ngog would've got nowhere near any of them.

We take Suarez out and hypothetically, we have 2.

Ergo, KUYT IS THE RUDDY MOTM!

*I acknowledge how insanely awesome Suarez is.( but in my world goals speaks louder than awesomeness nine times out of ten)

Reina- 6 Nothing to do but pick the ball out of the net. His clearances were shocking on more than one occasion.

GJ - 7 excellant at the back even after having to switch flanks which is never easy. Got caught badly trying to beat his man on numerous occasions

Carra - 8 Tackles everything and anything. Kept his cool on Rooney excellantly when on a yellow and his versatility allowed to cope with losing Aurelio.
Should have been off though.

Skittles - 6 Didn't think he did anything special and was caught ball watching on a couple of occasions.

Aurelio - 6 Had some very nice passing interchange before he went down. Shame.

Ming - 8.5 Absolutely immense and his runs caused Utd problems all day. He created so much space for others, almost always took the right option. Cleared 2 off the line including a vital one at 0-0 when Luis would probably have handled ;D

Gerrard - 6 Covered a lot of ground, especially when GJ got caught in possession. Could have bagged a couple.

Lucas - 7 Tidy passing, rarely lost the ball and Christ did he cover ground today. Hats off Lucas. Seems to be cutting out the silly frees.

Maxi - 6 Didn't lose the ball and used it well.

Kuyt - 8.5 Talk about being in the right place at the right time. Goals aside it was his best game for us. Never lost the ball, controlled it well. Worked so hard tracking their defence. Linked with the team wonderfully.

Suarez - 9 I can't believer any sane fan is debating motm. Take what Torres did in his first game against Utd and treble it. Make no mistake if he wasn't there we would not have scored today. He was fucking unbelievable. That first goal was as good as your ever likely to see at Anfield. Never stopped the whole game. Had about 47 thousand nutmegs. Kept going and going. Kuyt will get the headlines but this man was ahead of all.

The Greek - 7 Not easy to come in like he did and he won numerous headers and never looked like getting turned on the deck. I hope we keep him.

Carroll - 6 - Nice knock down but looks a big off the pace and awkward to me. Hopefully match time will get him up to speed.

Cole - NA

KK - 10 Pretty much perfect from the King. Extra credit for taking Saurex off to get the standing ovations which will do his confidence the world. So easily could have taken Kuyt off but I love that he gave that to Luis.

SC - 10 Gets a mention to for how f*cking awesome our defence looks now.

Ha. Sky generation or what.

this is never gonna be sorted. both arguments have positives and negatives. i'm gonna give it to kuyt though, just because off theball he pulled defenders apart and played clever passes.it has nothing to do with the "sky generation", which is one of the laziest arguments for anything any football fan doesn't agree with. Kuyt did more than score the goals today. his industry earned those goals.

Suarez was immense though.

Suarez and Ming were awesome, but below Kuyt in pecking order for MOTM.

Kuyt would have defo got it if Carra hadn't have snapped that little cunt.

Well in Carra. MOTM again.
