To single out any particular player today would be unfair on those not mentioned, we deserved it completely . Credit to every single one of them, for the first time since our peak under Rafa two seasons ago we are finally playing like a team and regardless of the result I'm so happy for the lads .... All of them.... Including Lucas.

Reina 7 - Hard to rate him with few saves to make but I thought he was always in the right place; scary pass to Skrtel but otherwise he gives confidence at the back.
Carra 6.5 I know it's not on to criticize a club legend like Carra on his first game back especially after his block on Torres. However, the number of times we lost possession because he had to hoof it 45 yards while both his CB partners were able to find a midfielder was embarrasing. A great defender but he's worse than Agger from a couple of years ago in his horrible "passing" (hoofing). Maybe its forgivable for a scouser but Agger or Skrtel would have been hammered if they'd hoofed like that.
Agger 8.5 Strong game from Agger and gets a bonus 1/2 point for his challenge on Torres. Good passing, came forward and looked composed as well as some nice tackles.
Skrtel 7.5 Looked tough as teak and was absolutely priceless in avoiding the challenge after that pass from Reina.
Kelly 7.5 I thought he was very good. He had a torrid time at different moments but some of his crossing was great and his effort to have them fighting amongst each other was great.
Johnson 7 He was solid again though some of his crossing was diabolical. Still, he's almost unrecognizable from the start of the season.
Lucas 7.5 Didn't think he was as good as some are suggesting but he was still very good in many ways. Got shrugged off terribly on two occasions but also put in a huge number of effective tackles and was still driving out of defence in the last 5 minutes. The point that should be noted was we were up against Mikel, Lampard and Essien; surely one of the best midfields going around and our midfield was never dominated. How that doesn't deserve some serious merit is beyond me.
Meireles 8 - I actually thought he was a little quiet - certainly not as involved as Lucas or Stevie but his late run into the box for the goal was a thing of beauty and left foot peg never looked like missing.
Gerrard 8 The same as Lucas - he was up against one of the best midfields going around and still looked very good. Defensively was great but also looked dangerous in attack. Worked tirelessly, wondeful cross for the goal and kept running. Wasn't quite on the same wavelength as some team mates but still held his own against the best on offer.
Maxi 0 I'm at a loss to know what to give to Maxi. Missed an absolute sitter, gave it to Torres and then stood there while he ran at goal, passing was astray, jumped out of tackles. Truly terrible performance.
Kuyt 7.5 Once again he worked his socks off and loved his constant battle with Terry. A little more pace, a left foot and some touch would make a supreme player but he makes the most of what he's got and we would have struggled without it against them.

Carra's big moment was his block on Torres but I don't think he was any more dominant in defense than Agger (other than that one moment) while his distribution from the back was truly horrible - everyone else in the backline seems to have taken an instruction to keep the passing short and neat from the back except for Carra.

Carra's passing will sadly never change - but he stymied Drogba non-stop. Drogba did nothing ... Which considering the form he is getting it says a lot. Considering this his first game, I thought Carra was fantastic and his slide tackle to stop Torres's shot was pure class.

Based on the fact that we as a team denied Chelsea anything at teh Bridge as well as coming out with the two best chances I think it is abysmal to underrate players like this. Not a great game by Maxi. But in the periods were we kept possesion and kept the pace of the game low he contributed as the others. If we had let Chelsea drive the tempo up we would have struggled, so in a team performance like yesterday were we win its disrespectful to hand out zeros to Maxi.

Hard to single out one player as loads stood out - including Maxi - him in not so good a way mind.
Reina 7 - Solid but shaky distribution at times.
Magic 8 - Has turned into one solid LB, love him.
Carra 8 - What a performance after 3 months out. Legend.
Agger 8 - Seems to improve by the week, stay fit Danny and you can become a Liverpool-legend yourself.
Skrtel 7 - Much improved. Only few shaky moment. Can't overlook the fact it seems he's positively influenced by Carra's presence.
Kelly 8 - Strong, fast, intelligent. Love him to bits already. Our new £20M RB.
Lucas 7 - Apart from a few poor passes early on he really stood up today and proved his worth. Especially impressed with him in the last 15 of the match.
Raul 7 - Hassled and ran a lot and amde life difficult for Chelsea's midfield. Not always best distribution but what a goal. What a fox in the box he's turning into as well.
Gerrard 8 - Captain Fantastic with a trademark performance. Like him to score sometime soon though.
Maxi 4 - Awful lack of concentration on both the pass to Torres and his miss in front of goal. Looks very low on confidence and stood as a boy amongst men. Need to improve rapidly.
Kuyt 8 - Another trademark performance, this one by our very own Dutch Duracell Bunny
King Kenny 10 - Line-up and personel looked a bold and perhaps to defensive a call. It wasn't, it was dead on. My favourite manager of all time already. The fact he owns the press-rooms just makes him even more loveable.
