Reina - 7.5 - MOTM - a few great saves agin.

Kelly - 6.5 - he wasn't bad

Skrtl/Agger - 6 - Could have done more on both goals

Johnson - 3 - he cannot defend, it's a real problem for a DEFENDER

jova - 3 - a lot of the ball, did nothing. another really poor free signing

poulson - 3 - horrific, just a pathetic footballer. release him

lucas - 5 - wins balls in the air, and tries. he's not good though

meirless - 4 - he's really got to start making more of his opportunities ... we need more from him.

kuyt - 3 - really poor ... again. i don't think he'll be part of our starting 11 next year.

torres - 7 - great goal, though he won a penalty but good call on him.

kenny - 3 - this was a winnable a game. i think kenny's decisions were not good ones - be it the starting line up, or subs. we're 5 points off last spot, we cannot afford to lose points to our fellow relegation battlers.

Reina - 8 Can't fault
Kelly - 5 His touch needs to be improved, and there are going to be teams that press him like this when he has the ball. But didn't make any defensive errors
Skrtel - 0 School boy error after school boy error
Agger - 0 See Skrtel
Johnson - 4 He was playing on the left so it's hard to fault him, but most of the things came down from his side.
Meireles - 5
Poulsen - 0 Poo, and thats probably his best. Waste of space.
Lucas - 6 His usual average performance with slo-mo passing. In a better team, it wouldn't be noticed much.
Kuyt - 0 He is finished. I don't even think he is working all that hard anymore. He is hiding on the pitch.
Jovanovic (-5). The guy earns 70,000 pounds a week? That is the biggest joke I ever heard.
Torres - 8. He did his best.

You can't fault the manager for the players making really silly mistake in defense and attack. There were time i wanted to go and break Jovanovic and Kuyt's legs.

Thought Meireles and Johnson were piss poor, Poulsen started ok but disappeared. Lucas tried but isn't good enough, Skrtel and Agger were alright, great goal by Nando. Reina and Kelly were good.

Jovanovic is really poor.

Agree with most of that. I'd give Kenny a 2 for his selection and subs. Truly awful.

Reina 7

Kelly 7
Agger 6
Skrtel 6
Johnson 4 - To be fair he was played out of position.

Poulsen 2 - Just useless. Typical passenger.

Lucas 5 - Worked hard but to no avail.
Meireles 4 - What is his role in the team? Is he supposed to control the midfield like Xabi or is he just another passenger like Lucas? His passing and decision making was shit tonight.

Kuyt 0 - Probably the worst performance I've seen in years. He did absolutely fuck all.
Jovanovic 0 - See above

Torres 7 - Great goal, but he was barely in the game. Thanks to a disastrous midfield.

Subs:
Did fuck all.

Reina - 7.5 - MOTM -

Kelly - 6 ok

Skrtl - 3 weak

Agger - 5 weak on the goal but put in a bad position. Good distribution and a useful block or two.

Johnson - 4 - Did about as well as expected in a wierd position. Never looked comfortable, and couldn't really cut in much as I'm guessing was the hope.

jova - 2 - he's useless, was put in dangerous positions repeatedly and cocked it up. Torres was largely playing with Meireles, Kuyt, and Jova, and all of them were useless.

poulson - 2 - Just really slow, so he gets bypassed. Broke up a few passes higher up the pitch.

lucas - 4 - not good enough, but as always not the worst, because he poisons anyone playing in CM

meireles - 3 he was given a start in central midfield, which we've all been clamouring for. He found the ball in space, in attack, and fucked it up repeatedly. He was nowhere near active enough in the tackle, especially considering how slow and shit the rest of the midfield is. I've been a big supporter of his and think he's much better than he showed today. Poisoned by lucas. Did at least look to get on the end of plays.

kuyt - 3 - he's lost a step, which is troubling when you were already really slow.

torres - 7 - great goal much improved in terms of involvement but still not back to his best

Yeah and to think we could have had Chamakh as well, til Purslow fucked it up.

Reina 8, some great saves
Kelly 6, should be our first choice right full
Skrtel 3, Jesus Christ
Agger 4 poor
Johnson 2, developing a serious hatred for this over rated piece of shite
Raul 4, decent first half, shite second
Poulsen 1, holy shit, i mean holy shit. Wouldn't let him on the bus on the way back never mind the team ever again
Lucas 5, our best midfielder...oh how the mighty have fallen..member when people used to give out about Xabi FFS
Jova 4, tried hard, ran a lot buts lacks ability
Dirk 4, poor showing
Torres 7, great goal, really tried hard tonight, nice to see after the last few months of disinterest

Reina - 8
Kelly - 5
Agger - 6
Skrtel - 3
Johnson - 3
Lucas - 3
Meireles - 2
Poulsen - 4
Kuyt - 2
Jovanovic - 3
Torres - 8

Loving the name Poison for Lucas. It's perfect. So apt cos a few seasons ago we had probably the best CM partnership in the league and then Lucas began gettin selected and poisoned everything.

I'm gonna call him Poison from now on. Thanks Fark.

Reina - 8 He is so important to us and he must be wondering how this happened - his once tremendous defence looks as pourous as salt water.

Kelly - 5.5 Liked him before the game and still like him. Good ball to release Torres, was given a rough time down the right but stood up as well as could be hoped for.

Skrtel - 6 Was largely solid and found himself placed in some terrible positions due to the players in front of him. His distribution is nothing great but I can live with that at the moment.

Agger - 6.5 Largely the same as his partner but an added .5 for being able to come out and draw an opponent even if it meant surging into the opposing half. His passing still needs to improve but his short passing game is fine.

Johnson - 4 He tried harder than some examples he's given in the past but he seems to have a walk-about moment (or two) in every match. Was no where for their second goal.

Meireles - 5.5 Seriously, considering his ability he was poor. He needs to take the lead in the midfield but instead he was often a passenger. Passing was off, selection poor and, bar a couple of moments, he had little positive impact on the game.

Poulsen - 4.5 Good start but drifted to anonymous and then to woeful. One thing he did do was work hard and keep trying - he's just not got it anymore - if he ever had what Liverpool requires.

Lucas - 6 In classical, pityful analysis he's (along with Raul) copped the blame for their opener. He wins the ball well, gives to Raul who passes to Fernando. Torres, with back to goal, lays it off straight to a Blackpool player right between Lucas and Raul and they have the ball in the back of the net. Our CB's were out of position but largely because we should never have lost possession.

Kuyt - 4 I like Kuyt, I truly do but his touch is as bad as I can ever remember from a Liverpool player. I am not exaggerating to say I believe most of his first touches went straight to an orange/tangerine shirt.

Jovanovic - 4 He looks like he could actually be threatening but rarely ever manages it. He looked dangerous several times and took the wrong option on every occassion.

Torres - 7 He looked like he was back in the first 10 minutes but then they seemed to recognize he was largely on his own. He kept trying but he also made a huge number of mistakes that lost possession - including the one that directly created their first goal.

Kenny: Far be it from me to be critical of a living legend but it looked a strange idea to put Johnson on the left from the beginning. Raul was more in midefield which was pleasing after the fear he was starting wide right. The downside was that essentially Kuyt was out wide and Torres was on his own. Not sure if the king is working a few things out but we don't have the buffer to experiment and I hoped he already had a clear vision from his careful monitoring of the squad all season.

I don't think there's any excuses for experimenting, given our predicament. The squad might be shite but the first XI is fairly obvious, and Johnson should not be in defence.

The lineup/formation was horrendous, made even more frustrating by the fact that we played some decent stuff. If we'd had players in their natural roles, who knows? I hate seeing managers over complicate things.

Good analysis and agree with most of that although a bit generous with the marks on Lucas, Raul, Kuyt and Jova imo. The CB's are very hard to rate as the protection they got from midfield was so shockingly bad it was really a disheartening sight to behold.

Spot on. Perhaps a bit to gentle on Reina who looked a bit shaky at times otherwise agree completely.

EDIT: No I don't, Jova deserves only 1, 2 at a push, imo.

A terrible, terrible display, showing the scale of Kenny's task in all of its horrible dark majesty; a squad full of poor players, bad technique, no brains, fight, desire, organisation or skill. And to top it all off, lacking in confidence. We made Blackpool's Charlie Adam, a decent player, look like a cross between Platini and Souness.

And Kenny himself is culpable, selecting a shit, confused team, and waiting too long to make changes.

Reina (5). Made some decent stops, but beaten twice and not at his best.

Johnson (4). Kelly deservedly kept his place, but playing Magic at LB does neither him, nor us, any favours, negating his best weapon - attacking prowess
Skittles (3). A fucking brainless flid. All over the place like a mad woman's piss, and showed virtually zero awareness of how to play as a central defender.
Agger (4). Several piss-weak challenges and poor positioning.
Kelly (5). Average.

Crapsen (3). Lumbering fucking cunt. We'd be better off having a traffic cone playing as the holding midfielder. He's pitifully bad.
Lucarse (4). Blackpool waltzed past this hapless cunt at will. Created nothing. Offers nothing. Is nothing. Was probably the pick of the midfield.
Ming (3). Needs to grow a pair. Had a generally horrible game and his passing was abysmal. Won't go into the "tackling" side of his game, because there doesn't appear to be one.
Jova (3). I wanted to see him given a chance. Well, he's had it. Goodbye.
Kuyt (3). Horrible.

Torres (7). Great goal. Like watching a lone swan majestically gliding across the surface of a blighted, foetid lake that is carpeted by dead, deformed, radiation-poisoned fish as far as the eye can see.

Your Torres-remark is grim but agonizingly beautiful at the same time...

Brendan the Poet.

Meireles seems to be playing with a slight ankle injury. Thats probably why he hasn't been his usual self. Has been very good this season imho.

Needs to find that form against the Blueshite

Yeah he's had a couple of poor games on the bounce, but he's played more or less every game apart from when he was injured, maybe he's just fucked.

Maybe, he's still a quality player though and has been shifted around the park like a mad man. Keep him central.

We need a dm next to him though.
