Incredible talent.

Not sure I have seen many 20 yr olds demonstrate the same degree of talent and skill but more importantly apply is so well for someone so young.

We are so lucky.

At this rate (big if) he should eclipse every liverpool legend there is!!!!

The fans are lucky, but that doesn't apply to the club, who were smart about recognising his talent and have nurtured it very well indeed since his signing. We're all quick to give the club a quick dig, but the club deserve a lot of praise for the development of Raheem Sterling. He's still got some way to go, but to be putting in performances like he has done, at his age, is both rare and exceptional. He's only going to get better and better and could well turn into one of the most feared players in Europe by which point we'll be overly dependent on him. Then he'll snap his hamstrings at 23. We'll bring him back too early. Repeat two or three times and then he'll be shit, but y'know, enjoy the moment and all that.

We've been lucky to see some very exceptional talents at a young age perform well in the premiership.
From an 18 year old Fowler scoring 25 goals at the tender age of 18 to Owen scoring 18 goals at the same age and now Sterling. Yes, I believe he's in that company.

I think we should get Rafa in place of Ayre and let him also have a say in players being targeted and he will get us the right players if we give him enough cash !!

The amount of young players that are showing a glimpse of their massive potential is very very enticing for the future.

It gives a warm fuzzy feeling that the good times could very well be back. Let's hope this trend continues and makes it so.

Yeah its pretty rosy, mate. Here's hoping the success rate is high enough to bring loads of trophies.

Yeah, it's almost as if it's been taken for granted that we have a world class talent at our disposal.

I must say, I'm extremely disturbed by how little protection he gets. In fact I think it goes the other way. Every single tacky foul gets called against him. And he can get barreled over constantly and nothing get done about it. We're going to have to start pointing it out because its not okay. How is this not at least a yellow? Its fucking Judo. And because he can't help Marko with the attack we lose the ball in the box. Couldn't complain with a red.

You know, I have to wonder if Raheem held him there deliberately to give us a better chance from the cross

That goal was downright Messi-esque. Makes running through the middle of 5 defenders look easy.

The role of Gerrard and Coutinho can't be understated in that goal, they parted, taking Matic and Mikel with them, leaving Sterling the middle of the pitch for himself, and god did he take advantage, the way he stood up Cahill was superb.

Clearly a direct dig at me there, but I'd expect nothing less for you. Funny how to word overrated gets translated to he's shit, I stand by what I said, he's a very good player who's developing at a phenomenal rate, but he's not world class player yet. I have little doubt he'll get there, but he's got a lot he needs to improve first, unfortunately us all building him up as the best player around is just going to hider that progress by putting him under massive pressure, we've already seen the effects that's had on him the last season or two, thankfully so has the manager and is trying his best to prevent that from happening.

Although I'm pretty sure you'd do it, I'm not going back through five months of forum posts just to prove a point.
