rafa felt they were both penalties when the handball 100% was not. the voronin one imo wasn't a penalty
You'd nearly rather argue that they weren't penalties to make Rafa look like a fool for aggresively looking for them.
I even bet that if you felt yourself they were penalties you'd wouldn't admit it, just so you could have a dig.

Here, take a pitchfork...

Spurs manager Redknapp unlikely to face FA charge for calling referee 'scary'

Harry Redknapp is likely to escape FA censure for describing referee Steve Tanner as "scary" and "not up to" the Premier League. The Tottenham Hotspur manager made his comments in the wake of his team's 2-0 defeat away to West Bromwich Albion yesterday, but the FA said it is likely no action will be taken.

It was thought that the former Portsmouth and West Ham manager would be charged with bringing the game into disrepute, but an FA spokesman has confirmed that although the association is looking at Redknapp's comments, it is unlikely to dole out any punishment.

The FA disciplinary board have examined Redknapp's comments and despite the fact that what he said is considered close to disreputable, they are expected to decide against any charge unless further comments come to light. Charges are more likely when a manager questions a referee's impartiality or insults him personally.

The former West Ham and Portsmouth manager was angered by Tanner's failure to penalise Roman Bednar for pushing Spurs defender Michael Dawson in the back as he rose to head home Albion's opener.

"I couldn't even put into words what I thought of [Tanner's] performance," he said on Sunday evening. "I'll be honest with you, I walked into the referee's game before the game and saw who was refereeing and I really knew what was coming. I've had him many times before and I know what he's like. He's really not good enough. He's just a poor referee and I've seen him make a mess of so many games before that it didn't surprise me.

"I don't complain about referees," he continued. "I never, ever walk in after a game and complain about a referee. I haven't done for years. But this guy today was scary. He's not up to the Premier League."

I suspect you'd just go off football entirely if Rafa went. It's a hate thing with you, isn't it.
The thing is with Rage, a lot of his critisisms of Rafa are right and justified, but he only highlights the bad things he does, not the good also.

I think 'we' polarize with Rafa bit much, people are either in the Rafa can do no right (Rage) or the Rafa can never do anything wrong (spion).

I think we're lucky to have Rafa, but he does make me bang my head up the wall a fair bit. Would be ok if he didn't speak to the press at all I think lol

I think it's silly to plant yourself so firmly in one camp (like Rage) that he nearly has to disagree with everything to put down Rafa. For example, Rafa felt we should have gotten a penalty, rage then does he best to prove to us all that they weren't penalties. So much that the handball was even 100% NOT one. So extreme in his view.

Yeah, but there are new rules implemented or something.

So Harry didn't know who the referee was going to be until he walked into their room prior to the game? What is this, Sunday league Church Football? Did the ref ask you if one of your assistants would mind holding the flag and act as linesman too?

What absolute bollocks. All Premier League managers would be fully aware of who will be refereeing each game days in advance.

Maybe the FA should let the managers decide if they want to attend the post match press conferences. No conference, no problem.

the handball was never a penalty.

in any case if rafa hadn't put on his stupid rubbing of his glasses and pretending the referee was blind act he'd never have been charged over the incident.

Find me the post where I've ever said Rafa can do no wrong. I just enjoy pulling up the idiots (like you, Rage and others) for being so blinded in your hatred of him.

That doesn't mean I don't think he can do no wrong. Far from it.

The handball was never a pen imo either. But the other one was imo. Who cares whether Rafa mocked the ref? Rafa's entitled to his opinion. Ginsoak regularly airs his opinion about refs, other managers etc etc and gets away with it.

Why shouldn't Rafa?

Don't be silly, the Voronin one was a stone wall penalty kick.
He made no attempt to play the ball ffs.

Challenge with the shoulder. No penalty.
Rafa should keep a low profile and shut up. Thats the best thing to do.
Its not because Ferguson and Wenger always whinge that our manager should do the same.
We are LFC.

a challenge with the shoulder is a foul if there is no attempt to win the ball.
If you watch it again you will see that Voronin is just ahead of Essou-Akoto, that makes it a barge. Whatever way you want to look at this, its a penalty every single time.

Definite pen in my book. Shoulder to shoulder challenges are legal in most cases. What about shoulder to back challenges?

tbh, as a referee myself, I'd have given the handball, cos his arm was (from what I remember) away from his body and stopped the cross. Wouldn't have given the Voronin one, like someone said above, it was shoulder to shoulder, and Voronin was probably being a fanny/looking for it

he's arm was infront of his chest. if it hadn't hit his arm it would have hit him on his chest.

the fact that liverpool fans are disputing whether they were penalties or not is enough for there to be doubt

And if there is doubt, then penalties don't really get given. Just watched the highlights for the first time since the game, can see why neither was given, but the FA and that are still a bunch of wankers stuck up Mr Ferguson's arse
That's not proof of anything. Strikers who try to control the ball furtively with a hand instead of chesting it down are guilty of hand ball, regardless of the fact that the ball would probably have hit their bodies anyway. Intent is the issue, not where the ball would otherwise have gone.

In the Voronin one the defender pretty blatantly took him out, it was a pen for sure, however at that stage of a game away from home and with the challenge basically being uneccesary in the first place as the ball had more or less gone.... no chance.

1. 'Your' does not mean 'you are', you idiot.

2. If you can't be bothered to use capital letters, why bother with full stops? You lazy idiot.

3. Yes, I did see it, which is why I know how idiotic your comments, even if re-written by an adult, are.
