It is an issue over here that it is super expensive and tough for working class kids to play ball over here. Especially if the parents work weekends. There's been a lot if discussion that middle class kids are coming through at the expense of working class kids because of financials, parents scheduling, and the needs of local businesses

People who have no idea are trying a bit too hard to care. It's kind of adorable.

I've explained the offside rule like 5 times this world cup.

No real complaints though.

So are we to take it you slept with five different birds in the last month or just one?

I'm fairly certain he just randomly created the first 3, as quite a few would be confused if he said NHL, NBA, and MLB.

ot madness when half of them are below the poverty line, have no water/sanitation on-site and live in mountainous areas !
"you go get the ball ... no you go I went last time, it took me an hour to climb back up again"

Sorry lads, I just was on the iphone and ABBREVIATED. Froggy, ok, so 500M in each country and they can;t get 11 players together. It's still mind boggling and it's not like other countries don't have similar poverty issues. But they still produce teams.

As for the Paddy Fields., are you suggesting the whole country is covered like that or are you just having a pop at me because I'm in the countryside typing this right now? 😉

I think the point still stands. Vast populace, no WC representation

And at Cricket. I doubt they could beat Ireland at cricket

Indians dominate cricket
The Chinese in ping pong
The Brits in snooker
New Zealand at Rugby Union
The US is not good at any of these sports

Indians don't dominate cricket, they probably should but they don't.

Australia and the West Indies are the only teams to have dominated cricket.

You do know that 30 yrs ago if anyone was caught playing football they'd likely be shot ! So no pitches, no leagues, no coaches blah blah blah. This is a huge reason why sports/games that don't require much space are popular (table tennis, badminton, tai qi, kung fu etc.).

They've only just started getting pro foreign coaches over the past 10-15 yrs. China has a hell of a way to go .. even though they did qualify for Korea/Japan that was a bit of a freak because they don't even offer a strong challenge for the Asian cups. They have a long way to go but the popularity of football is growing.
