when we win by 1-0, we were dodgy and Kuyt spared us the embarassment.

when Chelsea won by 1-0, they were victorious through Anelka though laboured.

when Man U won 1-0, Paul Scholes used his head for victory!

Spot the bias?

nothing new.

i dont think the hungarian league is anywhere near as good as the portuguese.

however... i do feel that Rafa gets a hard time no matter what he does from the press...

Isn't Man U suppose to steam roll over Besiktas?

And Chelsea is the pundits' favourite to win everything...

Easy your talking about two teams who have proven they can win the league as opposed to us who haven't.

Also you are talking about two opponents who are at least somewhat known in Europe vs ours who are not.

It's not difficult to see why the headlines are as they are.

I thought Oliver Kay being a Liverpool supporter was a misconception.

Is he?
he is. I think kay is a terrific writer and when liverpool are rubbish he is harsh but fair. I stopped reading the papers ages ago because what I read bore no reflection of what I saw which suggested (to me at least) their write up was complted but the ball was even kicked in anger and they just adjusted the score.

I do still watch sky though and it annoying when pundits don't know whether they are coming or going i.e. gerrard should play more central as he can make runs from deep and then when he (successfully) completes his transition into one of the finest forwards in the world and is then play more centrally (for a couple of games) gerrard should be forwards forwards because he can't influence the game from deep. seriously, you have to laugh.

Maybe Kay is a fan. Only a fan is not satisfied with a win without all the panache. SCM has plenty of fans.

I'll take a turgid 1-0 over a blistering 4-4 any day of the week.

you are obviously not as big a fan as Kay! 😉

It's the time of the season for turgid one-nil wins. It used to be pretty much obligatory. It would be a bit odd to have all guns blazing so early in the season. I imagine the problem Kay and others have is that they still have to fill up their quota of words even when the match doesn't deserve it, so you usually do that by (a) padding the report out with other LFC news, (b) a laboured analysis of why there wasn't much happening in the match or (c) some irreverent humour. It's not surprising he's gone for for the second option. I doubt he expects many will read it anyway.

Oliver Kay is a self admitted Utd fan. However he has always written well of Liverpool

I thought he was a Stockport County fan?

who is talking about a lie, I am talking about biasness

Perhaps what you're getting at is that the media use different terms to describe pretty similar performances by us and the other Prem Big Four sides, and are more critical when it comes to us. If so, I agree.

Point taken, but in fairness one could say that about most of what's discussed on here.
Indeed so JJ, far be it from me to side with Mr O'Hare, but he is right there is a strange paranoia setting in whenever someone from the press does not give us a glowing report.

Old pal, it is nice to read something comparatively fair for a change, not the obvious lopsidedness being spewed out.

That's wildly unfair. Vlad's often like that.

I must say, though, that I'm genuinely 100% confident that if you showed last Soccer Saturday's preview sequence to any open-minded supporter of ANY club and asked them which game seemed odd, they'd pick ours. That was an outrageous discussion, like something out of a schoolyard, and it's just disingenuous to claim such things don't happen fairly regularly.
