Anybody else watch this match last night?
I don't think I'll see a better 45 minutes of football for a long time this season than the first half.
An incredibly young PSV team played fantastic, quick one and two touch football and cut Milan open quite a few times. Also weren't afraid to have a go from distance. I think they had 14/15 attempts in 1st half alone. Bit naive at the back (oldest defender, Bruma, was 21, other 3 were teenagers) and got caught out to go 1 nil down. It really didn't shake their confidence in their ability to play their football though and deservedly got an equaliser after an hour. This really was a cracking game of football, fantastic to watch. A team with an average age of 22.5 (Park ji sung bringing that up a lot!) playing without fear against a Milan team consiting of Emanuelson, Zapata, Mexes, Muntari, De Jong, Montolivo, Boateng, Balotelli and El Shaarawy.
The 2 stand out players for PSV being Bruma who they signed for chelsea at centre back and one we look to have missed out on Adam Maher, signed for just €6.5m this summer from AZ.
Bruma a cracking centre half with an incredibly powerful shot, (think Alex). think Chelsea have a buy back clause too 🙁
Maher is quick, skilful, gets into the spaces between midfield and defence, good passer and excellent shot. Would have been an excellent signing at the price PSV paid.
Also, El Shaaraway really could be something special, so so quick with a great first touch. Him and Balotelli is great gas of a strikeforce!
