I missed the start of the second half - who captained our side in those 45 minutes?
Thing is, which is his best position? He played as the most advanced of the midfield 3 today but we might see Coutinho play there more often this season. So as backup to him?

This was the measure of the man. Others have carried the flame since, but it was Shanks who lit the fire.
how did albert do?
Well.
Demonstrated some good movement, vision and passing despite playing in an unfamiliar role.
Had two tame efforts on goal too.
Tbf, it was pretty hard not to do well against an unfit, disorganised and generally poor side like PNE.
Pretty much everyone did well.
Those who stood out were, Coutinho, Sterling, Aspas, Pacheco, Johnson and Henderson. Our defenders didn't have to do much. There were some "meh" performances as well. Usual suspects...

I know second division Spanish football isn't as intense, but I hope he'll have the right work ethic, because he could be such a clever player.
You'd assume that they knew about the fitness thing, saw he had a lot of talent & figured they'd pay a lot less & whip him into shape.
Nine times out of ten it's easier to get a player in shape then it is to teach him how to play!

I doubt the concerns over LAs fitness are that big or else we probably wouldnt have signed him.
He'll most likely be eased into the league this year and has time to work on his fitness.
But he was making deep runs into Prestons half late on and we've training heavily for 11 days prior to the game aswell.
Great touch, vision, ball control and with an eye for a pass.
Lets hope he can get his fitness in order aswell.

I didn't know about this, but there was an instance when he barged one of their players off the ball and won back possession, he didn't seem to shirk it.
He's not the quickest nor does he look like he can beat a man, HOWEVER, he a great eye for a pass, excellent balance and seems to track back.
Could well work imo.
Hey, if you're right it could save us a fucking ton, cos dms cost a LOT.
