I don't know about anybody else but I am sick of the way they are banging on about how great they are and nobody can touch them etc.

Yes they have won all 5 games to date but 4 of those were against teams currently occupying the bottom 4 places in the league 3 of which were at home.

I've tipped this guy to fail massively, so I'm looking a bit stupid now, however the Spurs game will be a much bigger indicator of exactly where they are, if they play them off the park, then it's hard to see how they won't win the league.

Yes, they are queuing up to lick Pep's balls, but it is always the same with a new manager at a big team. To be honest, the media's continuing about-turn on Maureen is just about making up for it. And we have to admit to our own coach, for the most part, being something of a media darling at present.

Pisses me off, they did the same last season.... won so many and every journo was creaming themselves over how they'd walk the league....

How can these people be journalists when they seem to get it so wrong every time...

I don't think there's a pundit or newspaper out there now after 5 games that hasn't decided that the league is now a foregone conclusion this year. They seem to be just looking at it as how many trophies short he'll be of a full set.

At the start of last season most were saying either Chelsea or City for the title.

Which is quite understandable and reasonable, given Chelsea were current Champions and City had won it the year before. You think they shouldn't be allowed to be journalists because nobody said Leicester?

I don't get all of this hate for City and Guardiola. Is it jealousy?

I've actually never minded City too much.

Are we a set of fans who hates every team who is up there challenging with us? People were starting a bit on West Ham last year. They have always been insignificant before they got a little bit good. Same with Tottenham.

The way Sterling is playing so far this season compared to last shows to me that a manager has come in and improved him right away. Yep they have a boss set of players there but that isn't always enough to be successful. Last season showed that under Pellegrini.

Guardiola is a cracking manager.

Exactly. It's called maturity I think.

I'm happy that all the attention is on Man City and the rest, while we go about things quietly and below the radar, if possible.

I probably get more shit from the handful of Spurs fans I know than the rest of them combined. They coined the 'fat Spanish waiter' sobriquet for Rafa back in the day when they had won fuck all in about 3 decades. Oh wait, they still haven't won fuck all, and yet still with the incessant jibbering.

Fuck Spurs. Fuck West Ham too. Just because.

I actually don't mind City so much despite them being moneybags. At least they hate United.

City? It's jealousy and anger. The idea that some Arabs can just come in, buy a totally insignificant, nothing club like Manchester City, and immediately transform them into a global powerhouse of a team by simply throwing a billion pounds at it. There's a feeling they don't deserve it, nothing has been built or earned. It's all cash and extravagance and City have simply "won the lottery".

As for Guardiola, I can't speak for anyone else, but I've always hated him and always hated Barcelona. "Mes que un club" fucking wankers.

Yeah fair enough if you live in the area. I just things its a bit ridiculous how we turn on a team that gets a little bit good and deride the players, managers, etc.

Guardiola is top class. He's had a great start and is flavour of the month. Praise where praise is due in my opinion.

(There is a huuuuge Klopp "Love-In" going on in the media too by the way, but people choose to ignore that as it does suit the point)

Yep - I'm of the same opinion. Nowt wrong with City really. They play nice football. Their manager is not a wanker and there are no obvious cunts in their team. The fans are a bit 'new money' but that's just circumstance. (Compare them to Utd and it's fucking laughable!) I think we'll run them close. Should be a cracker of a season.

Its total jealousy. Probably the reason why every fucker hated Liverpool in the 70s/80s. They probably still all do actually.

I don't really get it like. I fucking hate Man Utd and Everton as they are who I was brought up to hate as our rivals. Couldn't give a fuck about yer Arsenals, City's and Spurs.

Yes, I still keep hold of the "traditional" rivalries and hate Everton and United most of all, despite Everton being even less of a threat to any big club than....I dunno, Spurs.

But I also embrace more modern rivalries and now I hate Chelsea, and also City. Largely based on recent success, all the money they have, and also their managers, Mourinho and Guardiola.

Yeah, it's jealousy rather than anything obviously geographic or historic (or even meaningful), but I'm happy to use a variety of emotions and reasons to justify hating something or someone.

I have no problem with City, I just want Guardiola to fail as he seems to think he's the messiah of football management. He's not Mourinho levels of arrogant, but it's still enough for make me dislike him.

Bravo will probably hand the league to Wenger like a proper dick. Yeah, bravo, well done you dick. I have seen it.

What about Spurs Mystic, what about them?

Its not that, its more the fact they seem to think the season is now over after 5 games.... discounting the other 33, the extra games in Europe, the extra games in League and FA Cup....

If anything, last year shouldve showed them that just because they have the strongest squad, it doesnt mean you are nailed on for anything.... jesus they only just scraped 4th!

Guardiola has started well, but he hasnt really had any tests as yet. The meat of the season is yet to come, and proclaiming him the messiah is foolish after 5 games.

It's an oil money thing. With Guardiola, he has done very well in previous jobs and is clearly a very good manager, but he has had ridiculous resources at his disposal. They've had a great start but they've played fuck all bar United.

When it comes to rival teams (traditional or recent) I've got enough hatred, resentment , jealousy and petty vindictiveness to spread around and still leave some spare.
The longer you're a football fan the more you can remember a real or perceived slight from most teams. When I was younger i didn't mind Barcelona or Real Madrid but I can't stand either of them now due to Liverpool being fucked over so many times by both of them when it comes to transfers. It's all part of the tribalism that goes along with football and nowadays we just have more tribes that can realistically compete with us both home and abroad.
And fuck Leeds Utd too the horrible bastards.

Don't rise to the slippery Doctor @Mystic. We both know our hatred for Spurs goes beyond words!

Piedro is questioning your choice, nay, right, to hate Spurs. He thinks you should wish them well in their title aspirations. Just wondering if you could explain why this might be justifiable is all. *kicks stone*

There's no room for that level of common sense, decency and maturity around these parts young man. Away with you.
