Guessing it'll be this:

----------------- Jones --------------------
Kelly -- Wisdom -- Toure -- Cissokho
------------ Allen ---- Lucas --------------
----------------- Alberto --------------------
----- Aspas ---- Borini ---- Sterling -----

agree with that, i would play agger instead of toure and henderson instead of lucas. both need rest before manure and we need vice captain playing

No one rates Brad Jones on here. No one. And yet when a cup game comes up, they want him to play! It's fecking MADNESS!

Pacheco apparently doesn't want be paid less to go elsewhere, since no one is willing to match his current wages.

Anybody else going to the match besides Piedro? Vlad's Quiff and I will be having a quick pint in the Harry before the match and it would be good to see any SCM chums. 🙂

This is where a part-ownership structure common in Italian football could be useful. Clubs who are not awash in money can still acquire top talents without having to pay a big lump sum up front. If we were Fiorentina we could buy 50% of the rights of the player and let him play at Reggina for one more year - that's how the clubs do it there.

Still trying to sort our tickets, seeing as though the LFC website has lived up to its reputation and proved a waste of time. I guess the old fashioned way of ringing up the ticket office on Tuesday morning will have to do!!

I think we have to mix it - Sterling, Borini, Allen, Cissoko & whichever is the most senior reserve CB thats fit, need a game.

Gerrard & Agger probably need to be managed more carefully and rested.

Aspas, Henderson & Johnson need to find some form.

Arguably Coutinho too - although I'd be tempted to leave him and Sturridge on the bench.

Toure, Lucas & Mingolet can provide the start of a spine.

I'd be looking to get Kelly & Ibe involved at some point too, all being well.

I dont see the point in resting people really mate, we will only play about 45 games this year as is. No Europe and all.
Gerrard, Sturridge and Coutinho of course but noone else.

But United is next up - we don't want to risk any injuries to key players (Mignolet, Agger etc) against relegation fodder League One hackers, with that match in mind. Though of course we still need to be strong enough to win the match comfortably.

------------------ Jones --------------------
Kelly -- Wisdom -- Skrtel (match fit or not -- Cissokho
................................so long as not injured)
-------------- Allen ---- Coady --------------
----------------- Alberto --------------------
------ Sterling ---- Borini ---- Ibe -----

Forgot about Coady (in for Lucas) - thanks DB.

No player that started on Saturday should feature in this game

Jones
Wisdom
Kelly
Flanagan
Cisssisohko
Allen
Borini
Sterling
Ibe
Coady
Morgan

A lad on RAWK who gets teamnews and line ups etc posted that Rossiter is likely to be on the bench.
Now that is something to look forward to!

Er, what?

I saw that too. Be great to see him get on for 20 mins and look the part at 16.

We're targeting a Cup win this season so play our strongest team and give the young lads cameo appearances.

It's good that we've got a game like this early. We've got a fair few players that will hopefully be wanting to prove to Rodgers that they're good enough to be starting in the league.

Nice news re: Rossiter. We just need to team to do well enough to give him a chance to come on.

Measured, well articulated -- another good interview by the gaffer. Says a strong team will be fielded, speaks really well and knowledgeably of Notts County. Fessed up to making mistakes in 'changing around the team' last season, and that there shouldn't be any excuses for not making Europe this season. It's getting enjoyable watching and listening to him nowadays.

(Anyone noticed his little smile on the 3.12 mark when asked about possible transfers?)
