His defending wasn’t any worse than Robbo’s but he wasn’t on his game when he had the ball
Edited:-
For their(The Spurs) goal It was VVD and TAA Who where at fault, and he(TAA) spent hardly any of the second half trying to get back in to position (to defend when we we being attacked)

Gutting. So much possession and so little cutting edge. Mo and Mane were invisible. If Keita was coming on, should have been for Hendo. Not even sure Jota played. This game was crying our for Divock. Thought Trent was very good at both ends tbh.

So when do we need to have a serious conversation about Salah? As he's been shite for a while now, and we need him at his best at this end of the season

Fuck the doom and gloom. This is what I hated about the dumb quad talk. It's a recipe for failure, by fixating on a perfect, unlikely scenario. Big ears and any cup would shit from a great height on most any season I've ever seen, and we are one game away from that. We might do a treble with two wins. We might not. But most supporters would give their left nut to be in our position. If you look at our results over the last many games, it's just churlish to complain.

That said, I had to use tinctures to help me cope.

Tough game as expected - just lacking a bit of quality in the final ball and urgency - but there aren’t many teams that are as organised as Spurs, who also have the forward line to hurt us they way they did.

We were all over the place for their goal, hadn’t re-set the formation from a corner, I think, ‘ cause Robbo was stranded at RB and no-one closed the space on the right - which gave them the overload and they punished us for it.

Good response - we put them under pressure, like they were caught in the jaws of a vice, got a deserved break with Diaz shot, but couldn’t find that second clear opening - which is where that quality was lacking in the final ball.

We move on - plenty more heartache to come.

Salah : There was a clear difference in the way we pressured on the left with Diaz / Robbo and Tsimikas to the right with Mo + Trent. On the left we were frequently trying to get to the byline and cut it back/cross from there, whereas Trent was throwing in cross after ineffectual cross from deeper and as there was little to no space behind them, and the larger/taller defenders were facing the threat, it was far easier to defend against than having been turned.
Mo is often complicit in this as he, more often than not, tries to cut in to get his shot off, rather than doing what a 'winger' should do and getting past the defence to cut it back.

Having options is good but there is now far more variety from the left than the right as Diaz can also do the Mo. 'skip past a couple and shoot'.

I'd have liked to have seen far more of us trying to get to that byline on the right, it seemed only Thiago, flighting a ball from deep to Hendo a couple of times, was attempting that option of getting in behind the defence on the right.
