Pre Match Pre Match - Saints (A) - Worthington Cup QF - Weds 20:00

Given none of these players are his, what DOES a Slot team look like?

Or rather what does a Slot team look like in a cup competition sandwiched between 2 Prem games and ravaged with injuries? I guess someone's (in this case Lynch's) guess is as good as the next man's.
By now you should know that they are ALL his players, heart and soul.

Slot has not played a weakened team ONCE in his 20+ matches. I hope he rotates because I don't give a fuck about this 'cup' but I most certainly won't be putting money on it !

100%

Also Saints should rotate heavily as they have their work cut out in the league
I'm not sure they will. It's not like they have a heavy Euro schedule or expect to do much in the FAC. This and the PL is about it for them and to reach the semis would give the club, players and fanbase all a lift. I think we can expect just about the strongest they can put out.

I just cannot see it. Slot seems to have a soft spot for Jones and gets the best out of him, and Jones is enjoying his football at the moment. I can't see slot going to undo all that goodwill and push him to right back again.

Quansah, mcconnell, Morton, I'd expect to see any of them ahead of Jones at right back

Is playing RB for Liverpool a form of punishment now? He seemed to enjoyed it last time out…

He enjoyed it because it was minutes. Now he's established arguably in our strongest midfield. Why move him?

Just promote a youth player for a game, or someone on the fringes.

Personally if I was Jones and I was asked to play at RB, after the performances I've done, I'd be a bit offended

He played Jaros Morton Endo Bradley Quansah last round. So that is ONCE

He also deployed the cripple who’s unfit the round before so i make that TWICE

Ah true I had forgotten that one - though we can't count Bradley because Trent was injured and Bradders was the de facto RB at that time. But yes only 7 'first teamers' as starters.

Forgot we had a game tonight.

Can't wait to see the generational talent that is Trey Nyoni, this better not be a hoax!!!!

LegEndo masterclass from CB incoming

If this means Gravy starts I should go brick Slot’s house.

Its annoyed me that endo at CB seems like it's happening. Whilst i know he can play there, I think Morton might need hand holding i nmidfield and endo would have been perfect for that. Thats if Gravy isn't playing (which he shouldn't be)

But i'm also not paid millions for my opinion on tactics, so wtf do i know

Teams in Europe shouldn't have to play in the Carabao. It's good for the younger players to get some minutes, but the majority would gain more from decent loans than a few domestic cup fixtures. It needs a rethink. It's the easiest way to free up some of the calender and allows other teams the opportunity to lift some silverware.

In the mean time their shouldn't be pressure on managers to make their first team play a billion games a year.
