Klopp on preparing for another 12:30 KO: "We booked better flights (for the South Americans). This time it was much better, they were pretty quickly on the way back to England and that makes a massive difference."
How wasn't this the planning for previous early kick offs? Were they just queuing at the Ryanair departures?

He probably means they have already booked the better flights for the next 12.30pm game against Man City.

It’s the perfect time to play them. And our underlying stats are much better than our results. Think we’ve got every chance myself

i totally get that every time we play at anfield but its just the fact we have a little form and harrison has injected some quality in there and experience and dcl is back -
they don't like playing early doors - i honestly think we are getting something here coyb

I don't for one minute think there's the same gulf between us as there has been in recent years. Usually I want the game over and just written off. Tomorrow I think we can go toe to toe with them and give them a game. We have the size, height, speed and hopefully goal scoring ability now to not just go there and roll over. For once I can't call tomorrow but if we turn up i'd expect a result of some kind. Nowhere near as one sided as some may think this.

There’s been a few times we’ve picked up a draw there, which for a bottom half team is actually pretty ok. Everyone focuses on our low number of wins and some embarrassing scorelines but the reality is that there’s some bottom half teams who are losing every single fixture home and away most seasons to them (I think Palace lost every fixture in between Crystanbul and last season) . Even the top 6 all have terrible records there especially under Klopp.

That 17/18 Everton team under Allardyce was one of the worst I’ve ever seen and we didn’t lose that against a Liverpool side far better than this one. Even the game we lost to that freak Origi goal Andre Gomes was one of the best players on the pitch and we had three gilt edged changes to go ahead in the first half.

They’re not this invincible team people make them out to be. I’d fancy our chances much more at Anfield now than I would at the Etihad or Emirates. That doesn’t mean we’ll win but I’ll be annoyed if we just roll fort and accept a beating.

Rat boy Mk2 not playing I've just heard.
Jack Harrison to prosper perhaps?

Yeh he's out. Having surgery apparently
heard he hurt his shoulder playing for Scotland (Patto?) and cannot play in case he is needed to help a limping VVD off the pitch if Pickford tackles him again!

My fave part of that: "Everyone focuses on our low number of wins and some embarrassing scorelines..."

Yep, I sure do.

Derbys are horrible to predict.

All i know is Nunez should start. He's match fit, direct, and off the back of a goal and assist against Brazil

Alisson, Trent Konate Virgil Tsimikas, Szoboszlai Mac Allister Gravenberch, Salah Jota Diaz

Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Diaz, Salah, Jota.
Subs: Kelleher, Gomez, Endo, Nunez, Elliott, Matip, Scanlon, McConnell, Quansah.

The intensity quote from Klopp is the one that sticks out re Darwin. Cramped up late in the game on Wednesday and probably not ready this early. Better to start from the bench.

Scanlon and McConnell are not names I'm familiar with. Anybody got any info there?
McConnell played in pre season and looked like a very well rounded midfielder. Scanlon is a talented left back who was being hyped a bit last year but missed preseason due to an injury.

I think.

Can't wait for Mac allister to be bullied when he's left on his own in the middle
Yeah, Mac was hooked last time he started at 6 after an international break. Sometimes I wish Klopp would learn from his mistakes.

So he should presume Mac will be poor today and not play him?
He was absolutely abysmal last time he came back from SA during a break, and was hooked at HT. Why take the risk again? Maybe they have some blood work that says different but it's a risk (watch him be MotM now).

Apart from Nunez, who shouldn't be, the fucking state of that bench.
