Everton have had a mixed bag but I expect them to be a lot more adventurous in this game than they were at Anfield.

For me the only questions about line up are in the CM trio. Fabinho has to start but I wouldn't be surprised to see any of Hendo, Naby or Shaq enter. I personally would have all of Fabs, Gini and Millie again, although energy levels might be low. If Hendo comes in, it needs to be one of Naby or Shaq in with given he won't be as forward roaming as Gini would be.

Origi keeps his spot, Firmino comes off the bench if needed. Pickford will have PTSD.

My prediction:

-----------Alisson------------
TAA--Matip--VVD--Robbo
-------Hendo--Fabs---------
------------Keita---------------
Salah----Mane-----Origi

Fuck that midfield Briz.

Milner/Gini/Fabs please.

I agree With Oddball on this. We need to be ruthless now and play those who deserve their place in the team. From now on the midfield need to steady up With minimum of rotation. If you haven't cemented your place yet it is sorry mac.

I'm really undecided. Not many people really wanted or expected Milner to start and play so well in midfield on Wednesday, after a few horrible displays. And look what happened there.

Similar story with Henderson's MOTM display against Bayern, followed up by a disappointing game against United, and Wijnaldum was mediocre in that game too.

And nobody on Earth saw Origi starting on the left, with Mane through the middle against Watford.

So fuck knows really. The defence is the easiest to call - as above - and Fabinho is the easiest shout in midfield (followed by Wijnaldum) and obviously Mane and Salah will play, but the rest is up for grabs.

Yeah, I also have no idea who Klopp will select and probably Silva doesn't either. One thing I am fairly certain about is that Salah will play on the right rather than at CF, because he looks to be enjoying his game back on the wing. Everton will probably go with some kind of version of 4-2-3-1, Klopp will probably want to control the midfield with superior numbers, so 4-3-3 from us. Biggest personnel questions are Firmino vs Origi and selecting 2 out of Hendo, Milner, Gini and Keita to partner Fabinho. From the rotation standpoint it would make sense to go with Hendo and Keita, but Gini has been Klopp's most trusted midfielder and Milner made a strong case in the last game, so it really could be anybody.

Firmino vs Origi is a toss-up for me. Bobby is much better at combining with other attackers and is a far superior player overall – but Origi has a good history against Everton (by contrast Firmino was awful in the home derby), carries a goal threat, is diligent enough defensively and by playing on LW would allow Mane and Salah to play next to each other and maybe develop some synergy. Plus Firmino is coming off an injury and it might be nice to save him for later games.

It's going to be physical and Keita has admitted in his last interview (the one where he praised Fabinho) that he is still coming to terms with that aspect of the PL ... I don't think he'll start.

Back Six will be set in stone.

Firmino has had his love child and so there's no way Klopp won't start him if fit, and as so many have said in the past, he's integral to the way we play, so although Origi had a good game and it may be tough to drop him to the bench ... drop him to the bench is what Klopp will do.

Will Hendo's 'punishment' extend to another game ? I don't think so, I think he'll drop Millie and bring in Hendo alongside Gini, that would also permit Fabs to press forward on occasion as he likes to do. Cool heads are required here so I could also see the same Fabs, Gini, Millie starting midfield with Hendo and Keita ready to come on when they flag.

What I think Klopp will go with :

-----------Alisson------------
TAA--Matip--VVD--Robbo
-------Hendo--Fabs---------
------------Gini---------------
Salah----Firmino-----Mane

Origi is frustrating for me, I really like him and he still has an abundance of raw ability, and statistically at least, he's a consistent goal threat, but you never know what you'll get with him. Cracking goal against Watford.

Part of me thinks that Bobby coming on as a sub might be quite useful if the game is tight after 60 mins - would be good to press and link up intricate play against a tiring defence. We always talk about lacking options off the bench, but starting with Origi who will have confidence from Watford combined with a good mental approach against everton (he caused them trouble before the goal too i recall) would be a sound decision in my view. Imagine being able to bring on both Shaq & Bobby if it is tied with 25 mins to go.

Has to be the same midfield that started against Watford in my opinion

Fabinho is a must start in every match he can , Henderson is interchangable with milner

I'd like to see Origi get another go in that wide role , he's quick and strong and could give any fullback a tricky time

Fuck it , same side that beat Watford please

No Milly and Frim likely to be on the bench

Neither trained today..

Brewster is back in full training, OX is being rumoured to make the bench too..

Keita likely to start, was used quite intensely in training apparently

Ox on the bench is massive , think he could offer some attacking dynamism that our midfield has sorely missed this season

Keita playing is a great chance for Chamberlain to come into games tbh.

Keita is trying to do what we know Chamberlain eventually did last season in some key games, so you can swap like for like Keita for Chamberlain toward the end of games. As Keita is gradually improving its a fair assumption that we'll get more out of him for a period of games until Chamberlain is fully match fit & up to speed.

If, (big IF), we get Keita on form & a Chamberlain fit & firing going into the last five games of the season it could be huge for us, as I don't think we can rely on the front three scoring every game, using them like that could possibly manage that.

Cheers, that's an optimistic update. Have you been peeking over the fence at Kirkby?

AOC back would be a superb boost, this time last year we were running out of midfielders

If Ox is ready and firing for Chelsea I’ll be happy with that.

He’s more important if we get past Bayern. If we don’t it’s basivally a game a week til the season ends.
