Great win. Important.

I think Stoke were shit. Up for grabs so nice to get the points. First half reminded me of a pre season match. No tempo, no chances and a few youngsters to look at. The goal against made it a different second half and we got what we deserves.

Keep the Firmino doesnt score enough shit in Here!!!

Haha! How the fuck did we grab 3 points from that!? Great win. We've played better and got a rotten result before so this feels like a bit of a 'what comes around goes around' type of result. I'm delighted!

Can Walters just fucking retire? He looks about 45. Every.Single.Season. he scores against us. Have we ever had a bigger nemesis than this guy? Heard he is an Evertonian, so i guess that explains..

The fact that we can't defend explains more.

Mig was sensational, some great saves .

Young Ben Woodburn was actually pretty handy in the first half, retained possession better than Divvy and was trying to be positive whenever he could and he shouldve had a peno awarded. Very promising imo

Can and milner werent great but were left in a trick position with the overlapping width of stoke , wijnaldun had that header but that aside was great, pressed well and was positive

Taa wasnt great but again it was an ideal situation for him and we all know what hes capable of.

Klavan ,lovren and matip looked clueless at times, again, possibly circumstantial but Klavan, lordy, he needs to learn how to kick a football

Sturridge showed a few touches of class but just looks borked, firmino and coutinho completely energised us

We dominated the second half and were worthy winners imo. Sure stoke were better in the first but they werent great, we were just poor.

I mean, all things considered thats a good win and much needed so hopefully we can get lallana or hendo back in the fold for next week and crack on!

I agree. It may work eventually, but currently it is not working, and I'm afraid that employing it in the run in may cost us.

Doubt we will, but it might be an option against WBA.
But obviously the 11 that started the second half.

Winning ugly is part of football, you're not going to blow away teams every game.

Klopp's line up was all wrong but quickly changed it to help us win the game.

Hopefully we don't leave our best players on the bench again..especially when we have the squad we have.

This win feels massive - maybe it was because of how we 'drew' (read: lost) against Bournemouth ... Maybe it's just because the team seemed to will a win when we really were lucky to do it ...

  • Ref I thought was shocking. Yes, Klavan should have seen red but he missed so many calls in our favor including the penalty before their goal
  • Ming - Thought he was fantastic. Handled the crosses well. Two point blank saves which saved the game (when down 1-0) and then kept the lead.
  • Back 3 - they looked completely lost in the 3-5-2 formation. Klavan looked terrible most of the match and should have been sent off. Of the 3, Matip was the best - calm and no stupid brain farts like Lovren and Klavan.
  • Clyne was terrible on the left - but really good in the 2nd half on the right.
  • TAA - I thought he was solid. Tough to play against Arnautovic, but he was a part of some of our really important moves down the right flank.
  • Milner - much better in the 2nd half. He struggled to get used to his old position ...
  • Can - Thought he was very good. Not sure why Adam got away with throwing him to the ground, but his aggressive play was needed throughout the match. He's going to make it hard for Klopp to drop him once Hendo returns.
  • Gini - what the FUCk was that header? (why wasn't it offside once it was 'passed' to Adam?) Besides that, he was really good in the 2nd half (notice the trend here?)
  • Woodburn - the first 15 minutes, he was terrible. Lost the ball a lot, and struggled for a pass. The last 30 minutes, he got into the flow of the game, passed well, had some really quality touches and made himself a nuisance. There's something there with the kid -
  • Origi - He was isolated a lot, and up against those tree trunks, he took the punishment that set up the fresher legs of the Brazilians and Studge. I think he had a solid game, and should be starting next match too.
  • The Subs ...
    • Coutinho - game changer. He came on and the whole team clicked. You can tell his confidence is near the moon right now - great passes, quality finish (AGAIN) and looking like a world class player.
    • Firmino - fucking fantastic finish - but his presence was tough for the Stoke players to deal with. Movement, tracking back, a pain in the air etc ... Hope he pushes on and gets a few more goals to push us into 4th.
    • Studge - I think he's finished but he's still looks so classy out there. GOod touches, smart runs .
  • Klopp - odd formation to pull out for such an important game (anything but a win would have put tremendous pressure on this team) but he made the changes at HT that changed the game.

If United win the Uefa cup does the team who finish 4th lose their Champions league place?

I think that the win feels massive because we needed to prove to ourselves that we could win without Mane.
No Mane, Henderson, or Lallana, plus Coutinho and Firmino on the bench. And we still won.
Somehow gives me hope that top four is still really on.

It would require Man U to win the Europa league and Leicester the Champions league for the fourth place finisher to be relegated to the Europa league next season

Walters has scored almost 20% of his premier league goals against us.
